Question on culture?

When you have strong culture where the phase lane is your color and goes thou the enemy's planet and a little down his phase lane.

My question is, do I get the culture bonus for my race in that situation when attacking his planet? Just wondering because I don't know how to tell if I'm receiving this bonus (I'm a noob at this game kinda ) .

Thanks guys

I too would like to know how to tell exactly how much culture is where.  I couldn't figure it out.

I know a planets allegiance is directly affected by culture (which is why you need to spread it even to planets you already own if they're far away from your 'core' worlds).  Other than that I don't know of any other number or stat in the game that relates to it.

If you are playing Advent, you can check the shield mitigation.  You get a little mitigation bonus in your culture.  You can also check the planet.  If the enemy planet is loosing allegiance; it is under other culture (probably yours.)

i think you get the bonuses if the line is going up to the planet

with advent you know the culture is affecting because youll beable to see whats going on with out scouting as long as you researched the right things

When you move the cusor over the planet you get an info box.  In that info box is a line that says how much culture is being 'produced' by that planet (if you have a broadcast Center or equivilant structure).  Also, if you select a planet, in the three little boxes just to the left of the planet picture on the HUD, the middle one tells you the current alliegence (I have no idea how to spell that:rolleyes: ).  If you move the cursor over that box, it will tell you the max alliegence, current alliegence and the rate and direction of change (better allied, or if enemy culture is present, lossing alliegence).  You can do this with enemy planets as well as along as there is a scout, remote sensor, or fleet there.  Advent can see this when their culture reaches an enemy planet, as long as the proper research is done.

Your capitol ships also affect alliegence, and if you mouse over those, you can see how they are affecting it as well.

End of quote

You get the bonus before the culture line actually reaches your planet.  As long as there is enough 'force' behind the culture spread to make it to that planet.

Hope this answers some of your question, .

Well, not exactly...

It seems that culture simply reaching a planet from one phase lane and not expanding beyond does not give the full researched level of bonuses. I've played games as the Advent and on border planets with friendly culture on 3 of 5 lanes, neutral on 1 (due to enemy capitals on other side), and hostile on 1 (none overpowering the other), my ships don't have the full +6% shield mitigation bonus (it is more or less +4%). The times I see the full 6% being awarded is in places where my culture has completely spread through the planet and is well on its way towards, if not at, the next planet.

With TEC and Vasari, this is harder to notice since Vasari is a percentage increase to DPS (+4% to +15%), and TEC is an increase in AM regen (from +0.4/sec to +1.5/sec).

I always play as TEC.  I know TEC doesn't have as many bonuses from culture as the other races do, especially Advent.  So what I posted earlier was just what I've seen as TEC.  Thanks for correcting me and adding that extra info.
