banned for implosion requires the outside pressure to be stronger than inside, where as in space, the pressure outside is considerably less than inside (especially with a water logged vessel like a Mon Calamari vessel) hence implosion is completely impossible

@Draak - ROFL, I have never thought to translate Mon Calamari to English. That is hilarious.

banned for years of French make some things just immediately click. If you look at most things in the Star Wars universe, they're fairly cheesy or just outright stolen. Not that most stories don't at least have influences, but I feel that Star Wars (although a fun trilogy to watch) lays it on a bit thick.

Really, though, I have nothing against the thing. Just needed a ban. As for the word 'calamari', languages borrow words all the time. 'Rendezvous' is French but borrowed by English. 'Calamari' is largely attributed to the Italians, but then I can't help but notice the popularity of the dish and the tendency for Mediterranean cultures to make heavy exchanges of culture. So it's probably been adopted by more than I can imagine. The name is still funny.
