CDkey error

so when i got the game, the first thing i did was check for updates. i filled out the little apps and got to the CD key part where i had problems. well i mail tech support and they never mail back, but a week later i try again and get through. so i got my updates and my web account finalized. and now after several game of introduction to sins i feel like playing online would be waaay more fun since playing against comps i either get really unluck or i kill them like a breeze. i'm trying to set up an online account and get to the CD key part again. sadly i get the error message along the lines of "invalid version of game" or something like that. i've tried my key several times and it doesn't seem to work. any advise? if i get entrechment will it work better? do i put the "-"s or not? i use the large code in the back that is circled right?
