Rats Starbase? Level Cap Rats? Sharing, Buying or Capturing Tech.

Okay I am at a loss of trying to give the rats a Starbase. From any race. How would you do it?

Is it also possible to give Random Neutral or Rebel planets Starebases also?

 

Could I make the Rats have level 5 Capital ships? Same with Neutral or Rebel forces?

 

Sharing, Buying or capturing other races technology?.. Any ideas?

 Like getting advent Antimatter Recharge? Vasari Phase gate tech?  Tech Planetary Sheilds? So on and so forth...

Congrats!  I have three and the ultrasound was wrong every time, but that looks as unambiguous as you can get.  And congrats on what looks like a wife who didn't get too fat during pregnancy. (Uterine wall looks healthy, 3 vessel cord, breast feeding will slim her down a bit, too, and yes, it's what I do for a living.)

A few people tried giving pirates (not using EVE-speak 'rats' :P) starbases, but it doesn't look like the maps can take it, I don't believe anyone has succeeded yet.

You can give them capital ships (just add it to their base template in galaxyscenariodef, and to the pirateraiddef in gameplay.constant if you want them to attack with them), but you can't pre-set them to level 5. You could, however, clone existing capitals and change their stats to match what a level 5 would be and clone/change their abilities to match.

Cross-race techs are impossible to do within the game.

Yeah I know about adding Caps to rats in ratriad and the galaxyscenaridef file or enity. I have already done that. I wonder if i could some how put in the rat base enity file. To spawn like 50 nuetral scout ships there. So as to make them increase in leveling...?... You think it could work?...

In the middle of the black space there is a three lobed rosette. That's the umbilical cord, it just happens to be in view.  3 vessels is normal, 2 is fine. Bicornate, eh?  Can't tell from that view, and it shouldn't cause you too much stress.  Better to know so you can plan, that's all.

For StarBases?  Ask Annatar, im not sure, but i thought if you create a race, say the "rats" but use the template (the playerwhatever.entity file and leave the call to the whatever race in the file, then the "rats" could get the starbase for the whatever race.

I may just be dreaming here, but i thought that would work. I'm creating a race as well, and thought that worked. But i may be mixing it up with vanilla, where i made my own starbases, haha, home grown and not as fancy or cool, just really beefed up caps, but it was fun in vanilla.  Ask Annatar, he will know.  :)

                        Forgive me, but what is a "dummy building"?  and the instant build "passive" version of the deploystarbase ability?  I hate to sound dense here, haha, but i guess i do anyway, but would like to understand what you mean, would love to give it a try. 

I dont have a rats race, but i can think up a name if i can learn how to make a starbase for them. :)
