English.str problems

i have created a new capital ship, but when i add it to the English.str file, and use my modded file, ALL text in the game becomes "string not found". if i replace the modded english.str file with the original file from the entrenchment folder under my programs and enable the mod, IT STILL IS ALL "STRING NOT FOUND"! every line of text, including the menu selections!

disable mod, enable mod, singl player, multiplayer, quit....ect...

all text is string not found!

possible solutions? its in the correct directory format and eveything. thanks for the help. its driving me crazy....very frustrating..

Get the original file again.... increase the string count by 2... add your new name + desc in the correct format. e.g. start again :)

Honestly, if you're absolutely sure that your string file is correct, I'd say you have a type in the file name or the path (folders).

Otherwise, I'd look for an error near the start of the string file.  Like a blank line near the start or something like that.

Recheck your installation that probably will fix it, then disable mod and redownload it, but if you wrote it, go over each of the files

what version did you base your changes on?

if forge tools then you based it upon sins 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 and the current version is sins 1.16/entrenchment 1.02.

both have significant changes in the entities from the forge tools version.

I have uploaded a converted to txt sins 1.16 and  entrenchment 1.02 at this page.

I hope this helps
