custom planet force how to

first galaxy forge map, want to have extra forces defending planets but dont know how

Hello, all

this is my entry into galaxy forge and i am trying to make my first map. my plan is to have a line of planets that you have to progress through, some with rather strong defences, in order to get to the center of the galaxy where you fight with your opponent and go to the star to fight everyone else. this would cause people to have stronger forces before actually fighting eachother. anyway, in testing my map i have been having trouble getting the extra forces onto the planets. i have tried making planet templates, manually assigning the units, assigning the always or militia controlled condition. set the controll to noone, and planet owner. turned the default template use on and off. no combination seems to work. i either get the standard defence (template check on) or nothing. can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong?

you need to use a template with the forces you want, and set the default template off and add the template to the planet that you want the forces at. I can describe the exact steps that I use for such 'tricks' in EXCRUCIATING detail if you want

i think i have done that. it works with custom templates right? i made a custom template, unchecked the default template box, added the custom template but nothing showed up. this was with the always condition and i tried both planet owner and no owner. still nothing.

thanks for the maps, i think i figured it out. i have to set the planet owner to militia. however i cant seem to figure out how to do that. is there a hidden setting that i cant seem to find or did you have to make another player, if you had to make another player, how did you prevent them from moving?

I just type in Militia or RandomMilitia into the planet owner box.

I still tried that and for some reason still cant get them to show up. I am starting to suspect a glitch with either galaxy forge or my game. I am going to send you the map that i am making and maybe you can see somthing i can't.
