strange problem with modding

I was playing around with modding the stats for cap ships with the reference data files I got from Forge Tools 3. I then placed the file in my mods directory and got a minidump. I compared the format of my files and the files from the 7DS mod for the cap ships and they were exactly the same, but the 7DS files ran without a problem. I am running Sins 1.05.

Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?

I have also tried just puting the reference data files from Forge Tools into my mod directory and also got a mini-dump.

when you say "got a mini dump" is this when you try to load the game, or the mod?

1.)  I'm not sure what version forge tools 3 data was for... are you sure it was for 1.05 and not a later/earlier patch?

2.)   Are you putting the reference files in a subfolder of the mod folder?

I got the mini dump when I enabled the mod. I have since learned that ForgeTools 3 is for vanilla sins 1.16. Does anyone have a link to ForgeTools 1.1 which is for 1.05?

Actually, I get the same error when trying to load it into 1.16 as well. And 1.15. I'm trying to load in the completely unchanged ReferenceData entities in, nothing more, and it's minidumping every time in both 1.16 and 1.15 (Developer exe). So I'm a bit baffled.

Is there any way to tell Impulse to only install up to the 1.15 version? That may be the problem there...
