Considering you're like 10 years old, you havent seen much in terms of rip off products and therefore you're opinion on the matter is moot. Anyway, Impulse does have its faults, but considering steam for the past 3 months has been F'in up left and right, I dont have a whole lot of love for that company right now. As for impulse using more system resources, its because steam looks like something that would be found on windows 3.1 (which clearly predates even you) and therefore there are no graphics to speak of apart from something that was probably coded in DOS in the ancient days of computing.
I've had almost no troubles with impulse save for a few issues here and there that are far more minor then the majority that I've had with steam. Impulse has indicated that it will support voice chat in the future. Further, the overlay concept in game is pretty clearly taken from steam, but it is new and still needs work. One thing the impulse overlay has over the steam one is that you can still play your game while the overlay is active which steam causes you to pause and grey out to use. Once impulses overlay is out of its beta stage, it will work far better then steams laggy overlay.
As for the issue with the goat... you have serious issues and I suggest seeking professional help. Perhaps Goats R US?
