Music Modding

MUSIC_[race]_MISC confuse

Hi guys

I'm replacing the original musics and i'm a little bit confused.

The [race] 1, 2, 3... The Battle, the Trouble, the [race] Battle, Trouble, Announcement, the Quite and these sounds are clear. But!

There is a "MUSIC_[race]_MISC_1, 2, 3... What would it represent in the soundfolder?

Anyone knows that?

Thanks,

neterw

hey. i dont know much about the code, it could be randomizing the music, but whatever thats not what im interested in - how are you making the new music? are you using reason or fruity loops or sibelius or what?

are you sure that there is a Music_race_misc, cause I can't find it in both entrenchment nor original sound folders

edit: if you want to look for an example of music modding try the distant stars

uglybutz: I'm not making music, I used few times reason, but I'm not a big magician in it, so I can't really help, I know there are many people who are using reason, and many fl (never heard about sibelius, but Logic, it's for mac os, it's a pretty god stuff, too) And... which software you use, it's depending on your taste, I think... I'm just cutting music, and for that purpose the Cool Edit is more than enough.

Mooster: yeah, that's the catch, if you check the PlayerTech.entity there is a block for musicThemeData, and in it are the Music_TEC_MISC_1 and Music_TEC_MISC_2 for example... I think as uglybutz said, maybe it is a randomizer command for the players' music or something like that...

thanks for the help, but since then I replaced the musics, and it's working. I was just curious about that MISC thing

I'm also trying to hunt down some stats on what determines the activitty and emotion threshholds, and understand what determines the randomness of played music.

I'd like to be able to force cycle only selected tracks but I'm buggered if I can figure out the logic!
