Vasari question

I've been mainly playing as TEC, as I've only just gotten the game, but I've done a few as advent to get the feel of them. I've tried no games with vasari because, quite frankly, the unit voices are horrible. At least im my opinion..

 

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me some special things about them? Like how the TEC has the superweapon that can kill planets from far away, what is unique about the vasari?

 

 

And would anyone be kind enough to tell me what are the advents and varari's superweapon? I think the advent steals a planet from the enemy or something.. right?

Vasari to my understanding, they are aggressors with a relatively poor economy, and culture spread (so no TEC credits  and no super money making advent allegiance bonuses from culture.) They have resource extraction techs roled into one, so upping crystal and metal income through research is more viable.

NO1 coolest thing to my mind are PHASE MISSILES, as you research Vasari missiles become increasingly likely to negate shields and shield mitigation, so pew pew :cylon:

 

By late game, they can see all phase jumps that occur and can build phase satbiliser networks on their planets allowing you to jump directly between them. So all of your planets in a system are 1 jump away. The Kostura cannon extends upon this, see below.

 

Finally they get Long range missile shipss with only 1 millitary lab, increasing the speed with which you can turn out vasari pewpew.

 

Ok superweapon breakdown:

Deliverance Engine (Advent): Target planet generates your culture unstopably for quite along time+your ships hit by this receive a damage buff= this weapon is not for stealing planets, it supports your fleet by buffing your ships and ensuring that major engagements are in your own culture, this gives you culture buffs (advent is bonus shield mitigation) and denies the enemy their culture buff. This is a very usefull super weapon if you shoot the grav well where a decisive battle is occuring, it will drastically increase your chance of victory. Technically it can steal planets, but thats not really what culture is for or good at.

Kostura cannon (Vasari) Target grav well becomes a phase node for a while+ enemy ships are dealt light damage and disabled for 20 seconds+ structures (that means you repair bay) are shut down for several minutes= pretty good also. You can jump from any phase satbilizer in the system to the target planet, where you will find all ships have taken some warmup damage for the ensuing fight and all structures are not capable of taking part. Even just using the phase node opening power this thing is great for outflanking the enemy.

Novalith (TEC): kills population+ damages (3000?) + pop cap reduction for a while+anti colonization radiation for a bit if planet killed= This only hurts planets, not fleets and as a result is kinda teh suck.

The Advent have a "Deliverence Engine" which spreads culture and lowers enemy allegience on the planet.  This may not spund like much, but it lowers the enemy's income until the planet revolts and becomes neutral.  Allowing you to take it with no loss of anything on the planet.

 

The Vasarri have a "Kosutra Cannon" which shuts down all enemy ships for 15 sec. and all orbital strucuures for 1 minute.  It also deals quite a bit of damage, with 8 shows completely wiping the space around the p;lanet clear of enemies.  And for Entrencment it makes a phase stabilizer node so you can bypass the front lines of the enemy making him have to defend EVERY planet.

 

 

Vasarri: They have the best overall fleet in terms of offense/defense and their fleet is also the longest range of all of the teams.  They get more money from trade compared to the TEC (not refinery ships though; they get a 40% boost to production instead of the TEC/Advent's 35% to balance out).  They rely on guerella warfare against other armies which is exemplified by their Phase sensors (see where everyh ship in the galaxy is or is traveling to) and phase stabilizers (makes 1 phase lane between all planets, cutting down drastically the time needed to travel, watch your trade ships travel through empty space for that! :erk:

 

They have the best LR frigate (once fully upgradedb that is...), their strike craft are the most deadly in terms of statistics because of their efficiency  and for their weapons (phase missiles, they are missiles that have a chance to completely bypass shields; deadly against the Advent and are standard on many ships).  Their scouts can capture neutral extractors and they don't need colony or seige frigates for the almighty Space Egg :')  does both at the same time.  Their caps. are the best in the game (repair cloud, phase out hull, stabilize space/speed up space, planet drain!!!!!)  They can drastically slow an emey advance and shut down AN ENTIRE FLEET with their  support cruisers!

 

Downsides: They require LOTS of money, and they usually have smaller fleets because of that.  If you can get a huge econemy, you win against the others, if not it'll be a rocky road...)  Also, their voices are really annoying (as you said) but you can get used to it soon. Also, their planetary defenses aren't that good against swarms of smaller ships.
