Spam is basically were you take one unit and build it like no tomorrow.

Example would be a tank rush were you build tanks and nothing else. This tactic is useful only in games were there are no hard counters against said unit or against a n00b who does not understand how to handle such tactics. An experience player in the SoaSE universe can defeat such a tactic though it can be difficult at times.

Spam is a english meat product you get in a tin.

Monty python does a sketch about it where a bunch of vikings start singing over the top of the conversation in the foreground "Spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam lovely spam etc..."

Essentially they drown out everything else. This term was adopted by computer users to refer to unwanted junk email as it made the legit emails in your inbox hard to locate amongst the "spam" ones, in much the same way you couldn't hear the conversation due to the singing.

This led to the word being used to pump out something at a high speed (i.e. junk emails). This in term was then used for throwing lots of something out - e.g. spamming LRM or spamming trade ports or spamming HCs etc...

Hope that sort of makes sense....

That also applies for all other lightly armored ships (except for the anti-squad kind).

actually the lighter the armor the less suseptible to bombers they are.

There is a forum that describes what is and is not suseptible to what based off of the armor of ships but I dont know were it is.

Eh, who knows.  By the way, I just posted a new military strategy guide in the strategy section.  Hope it helps the first timers.

It goes back earlier than this.

spam was used in wwII,it was sent from america to the uk to help us with food rationing and the meat shortage.
Special Proccessed American Meat (spam)
junk e-mail is loosely based on this. Years ago when the internet was in its infancy, long before the WWW. an american buisness man thought of a way of advertising his company via the internet and kept sending E-mails advertising his products he called this Special Private American Mail (spam) and thus the name took off.

Kinda thought so, about the meat that is. I remembered watching the history channel and they commented that "Hormel" wanted to do something about the shoulder meat of the pig but could not do anything about it. They then got a French chef who was able to do something with the meat and presto we have the canned meat known as SPAM. All the rest well that is for others to decide.

Why are you so upset? You posted something in an open forum, then advertised it and I picked it apart in the main thread and told people in this one that is had issues in it. Other people picked holes in it too. Don't post something as if you are an expert if you aren't.

Hack is right, writing a guide does involve responsibility and credibility. Your guide has a lot of flaws and doesn't cover most of the more important strategies and things you've got to keep in mind in a military conflict. Thus he tries to prevent people who simply don't know better to mistake it for the holy grail ^_^

Fine, I admit that I'm being way too idiotic about this.  I'm sorry.

There's nothing idiotic about the fact that you want to write guides. But before doing so you should acquire the appropriate knowledge and talk with people who got more experience. And you should welcome criticism and include the points of those critics in your OP instead of flaming those who try to improve/correct the guide...
