Query re- stackable bonusses on capships

Hello,

Quick beginner question - to what extent is it possible to stack bonuses? I've just played my first game without a clue what I'm doing so I thought I'd reread the handbook. I played as advent and it struck me that certain combinations might be hugely effective. ie I'm about to fight the mother of all battles against a the main TEC fleet which includes 4 capships, so would stacking my capships like this combo have the effect that I hope it had? :)

revelation (guidance)
halcyon (amplify)
progenitor (malice)
radiance (cleansing) > target strongest cap
rapture (vengeance)  > target strongest cap

On this note, is there some chart somewhere that looks at stacking strategies like this or is this just kept in folks' heads :)

Strictly speaking, Guidance isn't totally necessary, unless you want to repeat that combo in a shorter time.

Amplify Energy Aura decreases Advent weapon cooldown (not abilities), so ships firing their standard weapons use this bonus.

The Malice+CB combo is an old one, somewhat less effective since Malice's duration was shortened, but still has devastating effects against a tight cluster of ships. Optimal result is achieved when Malice is in effect during the time CB is being used in order to propogate the full 2000 damage each affected ship recieves during the 8 seconds CB is active.

Vengeance targets a friendly ship, not a hostile one. The ship affected will return a certain percentage of damage it takes to the ship that originally dealt that damage (damage returned is 65%/130%/200%). Best used on a Radiance that has used Animosity to force surrounding enemy ships to fire on it.

By far, the Advent have the best synergy with their abilities, but that doesn't mean combos with the TEC and Vasari aren't possible. Volatile Nanites from a Kortul paired with a Vulkoras using Phase Missile Swarm can cause a chain reaction when one or several ships are destroyed, the resulting explosions damaging nearby ships causing them to be destroyed, causing further ships to be destroyed, and so on.

In general, the TEC tends to have abilities that interlock to form the line of battle, but not quite to the same synergy as Advent.

An example is a Dunov defending a Marza or Kol. As it stands at the moment, the Marza is strictly superior, so the Kol is bought mostly for Flak Burst in response to the 1.1 buff to fighters (Which made carrier swarms highly popular). A pair of Dunovs supporting another ship is even better - they can heal the friendly capship, and take care of one another to boot. :)

Ahhhh... the lightbulb is switching on now - thanks for the replies, it's always nice to realise that there's even more depth to get familiar with :)

Fascination that exploding ships damage others nearby, it struck me today that I'd never seen 2 ships collide which seemed a bit weird albeit understandable from a gameplay PoV.

Normaly, exploding ships do NOT damage others. The kortul's nanite ability, however, DOES make exploding ships damage each other.

This is the ONLY TIME that they will.
