The playing by email idea is good. It's sometimes used by the Community under the therm "Succession Game" and its always fun to play such a game

e time, click turn, then wait for the other players to finish. There could still be long pauses if another player has a busy turn, but it was faster than hotseat play.

As much as I loved(and still do) BOTF, I hated the way the multiplayer was done. What is so bad with classic IGYG system? Apart from increase time I guess.
