Black screen in game

So yeah, I just got the game and i installed it, without patching yet, and wanted to try it out.

Everything runs fine, with the main menu and everything, no problems there.

But when i actually get in game, i cannot see the planets, ships, asteroids, and etc. I also can't see the space backround. Doesn't lag, doesn't do anything weird. It's just not there.

Did i miss something or is my computer to crappy to play so it doesn't let me see planets?

And in advance, i've already set my settings to lowest possible.

Thanks

Why is this not answered?  I'm having the same problem...  well, I think it's the same.  Only I can see the icons and such, I just can't see the actual ships and planets.

Do you have an nVidia graphics card? I am having worse problems. When the game starts loading it goes to black screen and freezes. After doing some research, I think that the graphics cards are the main problem. But I perfer to think of it as the game is the problem, not the graphics card.

Update your video card drivers.  That's the most likely suspect.  I've used two nVidia cards and only had problems with the game before I updated the drivers on one of them.  The original nVidia drivers had some issues, and not just with Sins.
