Update data differs from host's.

I just got Sins of a Solar Empire, and I tried to join a game on Ironclad, but a message came up that said, "Your game data differs from the host's. Ensure you and the host have the latest update"

I installed impulse and downloaded v1.16. That's the only update that i see on Impulse. I don't know what to do to get this to work...

Sounds like it may not have updated properly. Uninstall, manually delete everything in the Sins installation folder and the reinstall again from Impulse.

I just tried that, and it didn't work...

Sure that it didn't say anything about mesh files? That's a common problem and there's a sticky how to fix it here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341480

I'm necroing this post because it's the only one I can find on the topic. A friend and I are having the same problem, we've both got fresh 1.16 installs from Impulse, we tried uninstalling and reinstalling, etc etc. It is not a mesh file error. This happens to us with Ironclad Online and when using a LAN simulator.

End of StranaMechty's quote

did you make sure to manually delete all the files left over after the uninstall? I had the mesh file error and that also didn't help me. I'm still not quite sure what I did different so that it worked. maybe do a reboot of your system between uninstall and reinstall. windows is always a little bitch, you know?

I guess asking to delete mods or the like is redundant with fresh installs and the like ...

Used a program called Revo Uninstaller that does all that stuff. Does a deep scan of the registry for leftover junk as well.
