Natural Disasters

One of my few gripes of GalCiv is achieving the climax of society...but now necessarily a win.

I pride myself in neglecting to ally with that one species of alien just because I don't wanna end the game...I like to play on, gain more bc, mop the map with Excaliburs (when I make it that far).

Here's my idea...remember Sim City? Remember how you were able to toggle off/on natural disasters?

Turning on natural disasters before play should increase the difficulty (and your Metaverse score as well)

When you win the game...you should have the option to continue play after submitting your metaverse score...but then to turn ON natural disasters as well.

I don't know about everybody else, but I was a big fan of SimCity and enjoyed rebuilding my megalopolis after a freakish Bowser attack.

Some examples of a natural disaters would be:
1. Swarms of space monsters (that eventually go away so that you can rebuild)
2. Super novas
3. Time/space anomolies
4. Solar flares
5. Black holes
6. Gravity wells
7. Galaxy collisions

Of course...that's all jarble, but the natural disaster would have to affect all races, not just yours. It'll definitely keep the game interesting even after submitting your metaverse score...in the event you wanted to continue to play out the map that you already have.

Space monsters / pirates and other big impact disasters are in the game. __Unfortunatly Stardock nerfed them quite a bit /Timefram and depending on the difficulty setting because many people complained that the random events ruined there games.

Try playing without the luck pick....

Hopefully Stardock (please) includes an option in the furure to choose if many or few random events if they should be game cruhing or not.

The expansion pack will tell
