= EARTH-2 INEXORABLE INVASION =
=========================

The year is 2395. Humanity's many decades of hyperspace travel, prospection and colonisation have brought rise to a number of wealth brokering worlds. To ease the bureacratic process a central government was formed, this being the birth of the CDS, or the Coalition of Democratic Systems. The CDS government coordinated the planets towards a mutual colonisation policy in the outer rim, allowing the CDS to create a second sphere of expansion surrounding the originial core worlds. The eastern colonies of this virgin space quickly became powerful industrial centers, acting eventually as bases for the expansion into the 3rd and 4th spheres. In the modern year, the CDS still continues to expand the 4th sphere mainly in an effort to capitalise on the resource rich planets at the brim of CDS space. Space exploration, terraforming and mining are currently the top industries in the CDS, and corporately controlled planets are becoming commonplace in the 4th sphere.
This is where the RP starts. Characters can be pretty much any human, but they can't be a member of the central government or a high ranking member of a corporation. There are no aliens (not right now*) but there are sub races within the human race. The first time I wrote this RP back on Impulse, everyone went altruist, which is fine but too much altruism can cause an imbalance between protagony and antagony. I've picked out some statistic files for each sub race that can be chosen as part of character background:
-- HUMAN --

The generic term for the majority of the human race, not modified or enhanced by any unnatural means. Highly adaptive and intuitive, they are the predominant race in the known galaxy and occupy most posts in the CDS government. The modern human is well educated, democratic and willing to befriend a sub race. Without their adaptivity, the human race as a whole would have never expanded into space and the CDS would not exist.
-- FLAMING NINJA --

The name for the macabre neo-imperialist terrorists, as the CDS has branded them, that appeared sponteneously on Luthan Prime during the 2nd sphere expansion. They are stealthy and brave warriors as standard, though a little dumb and incapable of acting without a superior authority, yet also incapable of betraying it. They are human in appearance, and the manner of their 'arrival' has provoked controversy and even communist scares. They are not recognised by the CDS as a sub species of human.
-- CYBRATE --

Cybrates are humans who have enhanced themselves artificially in some way, such as through the use of bionics. Humans often become cybrates to suit extreme occupations, such as long-term mining in toxic atmospheres, or high-risk military missions. Though stronger and more athletic by standard issue bionics, cybrates lose their ability to adapt to a changing situation and thus rely on normal humans to create their ideal situation.
-- ILLUMINATI --

The name given to humans gifted with potent time powers. The power of an Illuminati varies, from the simple ability to move ball-bearings about to the power to ravage the entire surface of the Earth, though no Illuminati has so far reached the latter power level. However with such power comes a debilitated physique, and most Illuminati will exhaust themselves even just by running for metres. The exact cause of the conception of their powers is unknown, but it is understood that the powers can be inherited from a parent. The CDS considers them citizens, but it is common for Illuminati to be exiled from religious communities and gatherings of people. These exiled Illuminati travel the galaxy and become all sorts of outlaws, from pirates to mercenaries to rebels.
More races will be coming soon, and so will factfiles about each planet, but for now I'll post up the required fields when creating a character:

BTW, I actually forgot to give the whole thing a plot!
Guess I was just too caught up in the development of the story. The whole idea is for characters to be involved (but not too involved) in their own sub-plots, then something extraordinary happens that shatters the foundations of the story and brings about an abrupt change.
-- EARTH --

The proud capital of the CDS, Earth is undeniably the commercial center of the known galaxy. High orbit is a hub of intense trader activity, taxed and megamanaged to maximise state profits. The populace enjoy very advanced technology and exceptional infrastructure on every inch of the planet. The surface of Earth is a carefully managed ecosphere, with a good balance between metropolis and nature reserve. Earth is the seat of government for the CDS and arguably the source of an oligarchy of political elites. The quantity of activity around Earth reflects it's status as the main hyperspace node for the core worlds.
-- OBAMA --
Named after the historical US President, Obama is a densely populated ecumenopolis in the far west of CDS space. It was the first planet to become fully industrialised outside of the core worlds, followed eventually by Luthan Prime. It was a major keystone in the 2nd sphere expansion, before it's importance was negated by the capitalisation of planets in the western 2nd sphere, and thus attention was shifted towards expansion in the west direction. The lack of corporation interest has made Obama degrade industrially, meaning high crime rates and heavy unemployment. Constant monotonous rain and rusty factories characterise the modern planet of Obama.
-- LUTHAN PRIME --
The primary planet in the Luthan system, not really part of the CDS anymore rather control is split between numerous criminal factions that flourished when law vanished from it's surface. One of many political controversies, Luthan Prime was conveniently forgotten by the CDS when crime rates soared, damaging the government's image in the media. Such criminal activity was most likely caused by unemployment and industrial decay, except on a much larger scale than Obama. What populace that has not evacuated lives under absolute tyranny, and there is no regard whatsoever to the civil or environmental sectors. Government and civil order has long since disintegrated under military pressure from radicalist criminal organisations, replaced by a transitional regime that shifts as crimelords battle for the 'throne'. Luthan Prime is one of the top employment destinations for smugglers, hitmen, right-wing rebels and all manner of social deviants.
-- WAKE --
A mystifyingly beatiful terran planet considered to be in the center of the 2nd sphere. A combination of toxic gases have produced a deceptive serenity of colours that illuminate the atmosphere, which are enticing but absolutely lethal to human respiratory systems, preventing the planet's colonisation. The CDS government decided to construct habitation in high orbit so that it could function as the 2nd sphere's main hyperspace node. Among these habitats are numerous heavy shipyards belonging to respected names in shipmaking, such as the prevalent Hagerz Shipmaking Consortium. The CDS Navy has also chosen to estabilish a strong presence here, as Wake is proposed by the CDS to become the first ever international hyperspace node, due for activation in 2302. Wake is already a bustling commercial center, and this move is set to more than quadruple the CDS economy.
-- FOYDE --
A massively industrialised desert world located in the east of the 2nd sphere. It is refered to as 'Grand Echelon Two' for it's status as the joint most industrially important planet in the CDS, on par with 'Grand Echelon One'. Foyde played a pivotal role in the creation and expansion of the 3rd sphere, and approximately half of all colonisation authorities were based here during the aforementioned expansion. Though it's natural resources are poor, the modern Foyde is the heart of heavy secondary industry in the CDS, processing mined materials imported from the 3rd and 4th spheres and exporting the products to Wake for assembly and manufacture. The civilian population of Foyde are majoratively asylum seekers, escaping from the war-torn 4th sphere and attracted to the promise of employment here on Foyde.
-- CENTALON VI --
An important ecumenopolis in the east of the 2nd sphere, sixth planet of the Centalon system. As joint most industrially important planet in the whole CDS, it is nicknamed 'Grand Echelon One'. Like it's economic neighbour, Foyde, it played a massive role in the colonisation of the planets in the 3rd sphere, and at the time was the base of all colonisation authorities that weren't based on Foyde. The higher levels of Centalon VI's city are home to respected upper class citizens and politicians, most of them becoming businessmen within hours of migrating here. Below the shroud of astoundingly large factories, however, is a planet-wide underslum. The people in this underslum live in extremely unsanitary and squalid conditions without a shred of sunlight, downtrodden by people from the upper levels. The CDS keeps an air of ambiguity about the existance of the underslum.
-- LOGONEE --
A serene ocean world, located in the south-west of the 2nd sphere. It had the autonomy to pursue it's own agenda during the 3rd sphere colonisation, and led by the controversial Tokomaton Industries, colonised the sector of space now known as the Tokomaton Hemegony (the trapezium shaped region south of Logonee). Logonee's surface is covered by a deep and vast ocean, home to innumerable numbers of aquatic fauna. The populace of Logonee live on small artificial continents that hover above the ground by advanced suspension technology. It is effectively ruled by the imperialist Tokomaton Industries, and is the de facto capital of the Tokomaton Hemegony, also effectively ruled by the firm. The CDS does not consider Logonee important, instead focusing on colonisation and industrialisation of the eastern CDS, and as such the laws are only loosely enforced here. The corporatocracy can be considered despotic by some.
-- VERZA --
Verza is the cyber center of the CDS, located in the north-west of the 3rd sphere. It's computer 'fields' process many exobytes of information every day, and is effectively the heart of the internet and it's information. Society on Verza revolves around telecommunication and virtual interface as opposed to physical activity, making the populace the most up-to-date in the whole CDS. Verza's ecosystem contains unique fauna and foliage of special scientific interest, and the urbanisation of the planet's surface is monitered and limited accordingly by many conservation authorities. The networking technology of Verza is praised for exponentially accelerating the growth rate of the CDS.
-- HYTE --
A developing terran planet in the south-west of the 3rd sphere. The planet was put on the brink of anarchy after the CDS cut off economic aid, however the situation is now a little more stable since it came to the attention of civil agencies. Much of the planet surface is covered by dense forest, and human population is limited to low-tech cities situated randomly. Despite being the main hyperspace node for the 3rd sphere, traders tend to ignore the planet and move to other more commercial worlds, such as Himoto III and Verza. The modern Hyte is in the media spotlight after the discovery of strange relics on the planet's moon, Kend, which some have speculated may be inactive hyperspace portals. The past isolation of Hyte has been considered a constitutional crisis for the government.
-- HIMOTO III --
A wealthy and commercially based ecumenopolis in the north east 3rd sphere, third planet in the Himoto system. It is a haven for traders, and the crowded skies of Himoto are a shining symbol of the CDS as a trader nation. The sheer quantity of wealth that flows into Himoto III is taxed heavily, making the citizens some of the wealthiest and prestigious in the known galaxy. Not only does it appeal to traders, but adventurers and explorers too, often being considered the gateway into the 4th sphere. The leaders of Himoto III give economic aid towards the non-mining development of the north-eastern 4th sphere, sometimes bringing them into direct conflict with mining consortiums who seek to exploit the workers there. Leaks from the CDS government have suggested that Himoto III's aid efforts are to be cut off in favor of increased mining activity in the north-eastern 4th sphere.
-- GER'MONTE --
A dead world in the east 3rd sphere. Though there are no permanent settlers, the space surrounding Ger'monte is flooded with resource-rich asteroids, attracting the attention of many powerful mining firms and a huge influx of miners. It is statistically the largest source of raw materials in the 3rd sphere, but this is still nothing when compared to such seen in the north-eastern 4th sphere. In high orbit around the planet is a major military installation, placed there as a base for military operations against rebel factions in the south-eastern 4th sphere. Ger'monte's facilities have experienced multiple rebel raids and terrorist attacks in it's past, so the military presence is welcomed and even celebrated as a reprisal from these threats. Minor refugee habitations have appeared soon after the military based itself here, but the majority still migrate to the Grand Echelon planets.
-- EDGE --
An arid mining colony in the north-east 4th sphere, located on the edge of civilised space. The predominant cybrate population works mainly in mining, extracting and refining great swaths of raw material from the planet and the asteroids surrounding it. The refined materials are then exported via hyperspace to a resource pool at Ger'monte, moving through the scrutiny of the corporate bureacracy before arriving finally at the Grand Echelons for processing into usable components. The people of Edge are subject to both raids by the FreeRavagers (the FreeRavagers are an elusive group of pirates based outside of CDS space) and careless exploitation by mining consortiums, meaning a fairly large percentage of social deviants originate from this planet as a consequence of their hardened lifestyles. Edge and the surrounding territories recieve economic aid from wealthy trader worlds such as Himoto III to improve living standards, however this aid is sometimes opposed by mining consortiums operating in the sector, arguing instead that the money should be used to improve mining facilities.
-- AUGORO --
Located on the edge of civilisation, Augoro is a terran planet housing a society living in terror. The south-east 4th sphere is a sector rife with rebels and pirates, leaving only a few worlds politically stable, the most prominent being Augoro. Protecting traders on the main hyperspace route is a constant struggle for the CDS Navy, and it is only a matter of time before Augoro is evacuated completely. For now however, it's rare crystal deposits are too valuable to abandon, even at the expense of civilians. The planet has become a stratocracy to replace a vanishing political structure, and the military protects the planet, prevents a mass exodus and ensures the continued mining of the planet's resources until revenues run dry. Human smuggling between Augoro and Hyte is commonplace, providing an escape from the conflict.
The Undying.
