You need to upload your images to an online server before you can link them for other people to see. I think you just copy pasted your image address on the hard drive?

Check out Imageshack, there are lots of other free image hosting options too!

Yeah thx mate used my step dad's server instead.

I'd like to learn to mod too, simply because there are so many things broken in SOASE that I'd revamp all the entity files to balance the game, assumign thats legal. And viable.

I don't think they would bother as long your not earning money on their expense... Because if not 7 Deadly sins mod is in for some beating

Hey nice models "nemboo", I like your work. You look like you are at about the same stage at modeling as I am, trying to put some textures on them. I've been trying with Gimp. It is taking a bit to get used to, but I believe I'm slowly working it out. May I ask what program you used to create them with. "gugabalog" you can make a mod with altered entity files if you wish, if you don't know already you can download "forge tools" from the downloads page. It has the GameInfo files in text format for references. It also comes with some handy documentation on how to go about making mods.

Thx on the info, had a look around yesterday and found out about the tools. There is huge amount of Moddeling tools you can use but my aligence lies totally with Maya 2009.

But once im done creating my models i'll ship them into XSI for UV Mapping since Maya only does one thing good and thats moddeling.

nemboo the reference files in the forge tools are for the VERY OLD 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 versions. to generate a set of txted files from the current sins/entrenchment you can use my txtbin GUI. the only files that do not convert are the ones that fail in the convertdata_originalsins.exe.

Wow, very nice looking ships.  If I were a fellow modder I'd congratulate you on a job well done.

If you want more work to do let me know, I am trying to get a mod started B)

Very nice models! The capital ship reminds me of the real USS Nautilus in a good way. The cruiser looks sleek and deadly. The frigates/fighters have a nice feel. I like the asymmetrical design.

Nice Work!

Is it just me, or do those small fighters look a bit like the Seraphim fighters from Forged Alliance? Nice job anyway

Well i wouldn't know. But i'll say theres a pretty good chance it does when taking the large amount of Scifi games into account. In fact it would be very hard to create something that dossen't have traces of other themes.

Good luck with that though...  Seriously, every sci-fi book/story has to do with something we create, a civil war, or aliens.  Find something else and I will commend you.

Excatly... Just uploaded pics of my new Battle Cruiser, a little criticsm wouldn't hurt. In fact i can't really find out what's wrang with it. But something look out of place.

Prehaps i was a little to fast finishing it >_>

Nice models :)

The forge tool documentation should be enough for you to get started. You are with Maya as i am with 3dsmax, and that is ok because you can use any modeling tool to make your models. The only problem is you must use XSI to finish them, and get them ready for import. The main reason is because of the tangents (similar to smoothing groups). For the model to look right in sins tangets must be done, and the only way to do them is in XSI. Even if they are quick, and dirty. If your model has no tangents or bad tangents then it will look horrible in game.

Textures need to be re-applied in xsi to utilize the sins shaders.

It is also best to add your weapon/effect/hangar hardpoints in XSI as well.

Honestly, the reaction I had when I saw these ships was:   :omg:  -> :O  -> :dur:  -> :')  ->

Simply put, I like them.  But as far as the battle cruiser goes, it seems to be too blocky...  The front of it looks cool and goes with the others well, but the back half is too square and needs to be more rounded off or something...  Honestly, I don't really know why you have those six flanges on the rear of it...  If they were more fin-like, it might look better, but I don't know...  I guess the rear too that are parallel to the engine look ok, but the other four don't...

OH!!  What race is this for because that could make a difference as to why it doesn't look right?  Judging by the style I'm gonna say TEC or some new race you created (most likely a new race) but I'm just curious because it could help us understand how you want the ships to be.

with the exception of the battlecruiser, they look more like Vasari than TEC

the models are sweet looking. only thing i find bad about the largest ship is the nose on it. it really does not fit well with the rest of the ship. id make it either come out to a few points or make it either longer coming down to a point or depending on what weapons the ship will have as well as class of weapons you could even put a hanger or some other type of weapon on the nose. although the ship lacks turrets in general (be it for missiles or other weapons). thisi s my personal opinion though. i always did prefer sleak ships over bulky ones.
