One of the greatest...

Sorry, you can lock this thread, but I am just expressing my appreciation of this game. I love Sins and it has been a LONG time since I felt this kind of enthusiasm about a game. This game was a launch-day purchase for me (thanks to much pimping from the now defunct GFW Magazine and GFW podcast) but, to be honest, after playing it for a while I set it aside.

However, after the release of Entrenchement, WOW, I can't stop playing. I have literally put more hours into this game than my school work (thank god I am in my final semester of throw-away classes while I intern). I don't know why I feel the need to create a gushing post...part of it can probably be attributed to the 25+ hour game that I have played over the past month in my spare time (I stetched it out past the Victory screen...I wanted to rule the entire galaxy). I can not wait to see what your development team has in store for us with the next expansion.

I have been reluctant to play online because I know how it can be with RTS games when it comes to online play (it's all about winning quickly with the most effective strategy rather than playing the long drawn out chess match that could take days/weeks over the course of a few gaming sessions). I have been trying my hardest to spread the word about Sins to all my gaming friends, both online and in person. Keep up the fantastic work.

MP is a challenge completely unlike SP. I encourage you to play in MP, you will have much more fun!

I love Entrenchment too, I wonder what IC has in store for us next?

Don't let Sins F-up your life, man.  Make sure that your studies come first.

I second what Juletron had to say.  If you crave a chess match, definitely log onto Ironclad Online and play the game in online multiplayer.  You'll probably be bowled over when you discover just how strategically challenging it can be to play against human opponents and how easy the AI is in comparison.  I suggest trying the 5v5 pickup games (pug) matches where two team captains pick the other 8 players (often resulting in balanced teams and intense, suspenseful, competitive games).  Once you make friends you might even use voice com with them.

Also, most online Sins games don't last more than about 2 hours with most being decided before the 1:30 mark.  Online games don't take as long because even if your team needs to mop up every last enemy planet, you still have human allies to help you do it.  Also, most people on the losing team will just say "gg" and quit or surrender once the outcome has been decided so that you don't have to go through the motions.
