FYI  The reason the download is taking forever is that everyone is trying to download SOA2  195 downloads and its only been up for less than a day!  oh and I think I speak for the whole team in saying thank you for the compliments, we try |-)

There is something wrong with the Rar i got crc errors as well.

The team color issue hasnt been fixed yet. You can fix it yourself if you have photoshop, and the nvidia dds plugins. Basically what is wrong is the specular maps for all the modded units are in the wrong texture. They are in the Alpha channel of the models -cl texture. This was where they were supposed to be Pre-Entrenchment. However after Entrenchment was released Ironclad changed the Alpha channel of the -cl textures to Team color, and moved the specular maps to the Red color channel of the respectivew models -da texture. Just copy the alpha channel of the ships -cl texture, and paste it into the red channel of the ships -da texture. Then fill the alpha channel of the -cl texture ALL Black, and re-save it.

For those who cant do this just disable team color in the options.

We will get this fixed sooner or later.

The readme is WAY out of date

Installation location for the mod in vista is:

I think it's in the Effects menu, you can just turn off the team color mesh, so the ships will look right

Been playing since this morning, it's fantastic!  I love what you've done with the Defiant!

And I got the errors while using winrar too, but the game runs just fine.  Haven't had a single problem all day

Really? We went in a 2vs2 match (against feds) and our fleets didn't stand a chance.

An entire fleet of capitals+escorts got vaporized...I think everything have way too much damage amount or too few life points/armor/shield, the battle lasted 1 minute after two hours of preparation :/

I know it's just a demo so I think it will be fixed sooner or later right?

Nice update played this mod from the start not very vocal usually.

 

Enjoying the mod so far only thing I am unsure of is having the miranda and excelsior class having pulse phasers. having most the lower tier ships have pulse  or plasma as the game calls it make it look like a star wars battle. These two classes could do with beam weapons I am sure they got upgraded with modern phasers during the first dominion war.

I cant get the damn mod working, every time i try to enable it the screen freezes and after a few moment i get a minidump and the whole game crashes. I tried to download the mod again, i even reinstalled the whole game but nothing helped. Every single time the game gets a minidump and than crashes! I have turned every graphic option and effects down and tried to run the program in Windows 98, 2000 and XP version (i have a Vista system) but that didnt help.

Also there is a problem with the rar file, one of the files cant be opened, the OpeningCinematic.bik file. IZArc the unzip program ive been using says its corrupted.

dont want to sound patronising but you guys have put this in the entrenchment v1.03

 mods folder and disabled any existing mods before enabling SOA2?

 

this game is temperamental to say the least! one file out of place and it halts proceedings!

 

been playing mod all day and once again i must reiterate my sincerest thanks for all the work that has been done!

Have been following this mod for ages but haven't said too much in quite some time...

At the risk of repeating everyone else, many many thanks and great work so far to the mod team and anyone involved... just played a match vs the Klingons and it was fun!

That being said I had a curious problem arrise... played 1 vs 1 AI Normal Random setting and I ended up after building a small fleet, finding a Klingon outpost. It was virtually an empty system.... with a trade port. I killed the planet, thinking it was one they had recently taken, and aparently it was their only system. Not sure if the pirates managed to defeat them, or if Praxis exploded and they decided not to bother with negotiations or what....

Anyhow as I said amazing work so far. I noticed a blurb up there about ideas for special abilities... what is the best way to go about making suggestions for those instead of flooding my ideas in this thread and annoying everyone here? :P
