it is rather quite easy

first download the tools make sure you have harpo_'s mod utilities 1.181 .  Next  unzip them to the desktop and open it look for the file that says mod updater and open it. follow the instructions.

I get an error that says "can't find path" or I get no convertion files avaiable".  I have the 1.181 toolset and I'm trying to do the SoA2 file folder. cuz it minidumps and I thought it might be cuz I'm @ 1.041 and it may just be at 1.04

Im assuming since we see the and that the wormhole (and 1.04 prob. is crossed out) the patch is almost done.

I spoke with Shimmer today, and i was mistaken. There will be a 0.3e2 update. It is needed for public testing before we release 0.4e

No we are not ready to release a new update yet. I have stated before that it will take a while to get it ready. We have many things to add before we release it. However Harpo's tools will convert 0.3e1, and its update over to 1.041. It has been done without errors before, and harpo tested his tools with the SoA 2 mod. You need to follow the directions on his tools. It guides you step by step, and its ridiculously easy to do. If you are getting errors then more than likely something is wrong on your end.

Make sure the SoA2 mod is the ONLY mod in the folders before converting. Make sure you add the 0.3e101 update BEFORE you convert it with harpos tools. Overwrite any files in the SoA2 folder with the update.

Be patient we are working on it.

If its still a couple of weeks away, would have been nice just for you guys to combine the two downloads you have up now and use harpo and update to 1.04 and upload it so we can all play until then ;-)

Anyway, I am about to give it a go my self. Will be interesting to see if I can get it to work. If so I will be up to play with you guys :-)

the only error I get with the soa 2 0.03e101 updated to 1.041 entrenchment is to do with a new string entry

trancenova, it has not as it is only one item displayed on the bottom of some infocards. and the error is in the string file that the mod updater does NOT touch.

hm, okay. would you please be so kind to explain what i have to to, to get the mod working?

i still have the mod and the last patch in my modfolder. i think i have to copy it in the entrenchment 1.04 folder. what do i have to to after i copied the files?

or do i have to install 1.41 first? or what? or how? :)

the only steps that I have done for any 1.03 and earlier mods updating to 1.04 & 1.041 is 1st update the mods with the mod updater, then (because of added essential entity files) is run the 'manifest maker for mods' and build a new entity.manifest for the mods then I load the mod into entrenchment 1.041 and play

by the way for sins 1.18 & entrenchment 1.04 I would recommend the modding utilities 1.18a rar,
but for sins 1.81 & entrenchment 1.041 I recommend the harpo's modding utilites 1.181.rar, but the bugfix is worth having so get the sins /entrenchment update.

I realised that I deleted the files from the mod folder when they stoped working so I cant even use the the tool as it asks to naviate there and there is nothing there now. When I show it to the new downloaded files I get a error. number 52. I could probably fix this, but I dont want to spend to much time on it knowing a update will be out in a few weeks and not many people will be online before that anyway. Just happy that harpo has made such a great tool that helped our modding team fix what the 1.04 broke. Thanks again harpo.

I see in the main space 03e version and update, and for 0,4?

 

Maybe i have to download first 03e and use harpoo update manager?

  1. How big is a Sovereign Class Starship?
    1. About 700 meters long (over twice as long as a modern aircraft carrier)
    2. About 3 million metric tons (about 30 times heavier than a modern aircraft carrier)
    3. 665,000 square meters of deck area (over half a square kilometer)
    4. (PS - color me skeptical that the crew size of the thing is about 1200 - that's 30 times the ship of an aircraft carrier with 1/4 the crew...)
  2. How big is a borg cube?
    1. Slightly over 3000 m on a side.
    2. About 27 billion cubic meters, or 27 cubic kilometers.
    3. Probably about 27 billion metric tons (assuming it’s similar density to a Sovereign Class and to modern naval warships, which are ~ neutrally buoyant in water)

For other mods, there's a folder to put it in, which if you use Vista, it is usually hidden, even if you've managed to get there once before... I am not an expert though. It lists the address though which you click "show mod path" in the game under the tab "mods" in the Options menu, such as this is where my mods would be if I had any for the current update on my Vista dominated machine:

i installed the mod, and applied the patch files. but it still dosnt work, well it does work just all the text and menus are about 5 inches to the right of the button, can hover over where they are and u can see the beggining letter of text just off screen. any help would be brill.

 

ERROR when extracting, i use winrar if that helps: CRC failed in soA2 03E1/Textures/Curry-cl.dds. The file is corrupt

ArkRoyal, try a dozen pages back or so, or somewhere in the 30's, the Curry file has been uploaded several times now. Or you can post your email address and I can email it to you.


Not wanting to seem too lazy, but anyone who has the mod working and updated feel like uploading the changed files? For the sake of my laziness, and the people who just can't seem to figure it out? Thanks! xD

I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktop

NOTE 2 the 'user name' in the above paths is your WINDOWS login user name, eg Administrator
