Question on Military Labs.

The Military Lab states that the more of them built the quicker frigates/small cap ships are built, however in playing I haven't noticed this nor have I noticed the actually build time # reflecting this so my question is #1 does this bonus even work or is this some left over beta text/code that should be fixed? #2 if it does work what exactly is the buff? (does it apply to any ship building factory on any planet or only to the ones located with the Labs?)

Really where does it states that?

The only way I am sure that would increase ships building is for the tech only and the comes in the civilian research lab tier 6 or if you discover Relativest Factories (not sure if that is the name)

if you get either the research level of the tech or the artifact, it will increase the speed of building ships

I think what you are talking about is the starbase ability, where you could build ships, then yes

 

If you research tier 4 or 5 of the starbase ships building ability in tech (for sure) (rest I don't know) then research in starbase, up to level 2, then you get an increase of a certain percentage if you build from that starbase (I don't remember how much)

So since starbases upgrades can only be done by military labs, so in essence, you can increase ship production by using military labs and starbases

When your mouse hovers over the Military Lab the description states this bonus. I really would like to know the math behind it if there is any (however I suspect this is some bonus that doesn't exist now or never did)

Interesting...it is in the strings files also, Never noticed it. Maybe it is automactically calculated. Funny never knew that, I only build 8 of each.

The concept makes sense, but I think that someone should check the frigate factory .entity file in gameinfo...  (I would but I am on vacation and as such, don't have the file...)

Ya, but if you look at the entity names I check for both phase and psi, only the tech get this bonus.

I personally check the base sins string files it has the same as the one in entrenchment

and check both combat labs, and frigate and capital factory for abilities none for both sin and entrenchment

Also did a little checking on dev.exe, nothing build like 1000 (ya I go for broke just to check) labs (both), no changes in build rates in both without and with mods in both sins

no bonus for the other races either

To clarify further yeah this is for Original/Entrenchment in either case the text description does state this. I've always wondered about this since I bought the game a few months back but at the time I only looked around on gamefaqs/google searches to no avail. If there is a bonus I'd like to know and if not well clean up that text if you can Devs. :P

When you get 4 TEC SB's in a stars GW, max them out with the ship building ability, and tell them to build a 1500 fleet supply fleet... its done before you can even say military lab =)

Affirmed, and I remember seeing it way back in the demo, Vanilla 1.03. I saw nothing of the sort, of course. I'm surprised no one caught it sooner...

Mil labs and Civ labs both say they give a buff. TEC only. Now what would be interesting is if they actually put in such a buff, 1% per lab maxing at 10%? Or just remove the text...

How about 5%... Buildings can have abilities, so just give them a passive ability that increases ship build time...

thing is if you click on them the ability doesn't show up, nor if you check the ability section of the entity files, it isn't there

In origional sins.. in one of the old versions... I did notice that when I had 2 military labs around my desert ship-building planet, the time it took to buid ships seemed to be lower... If i remember correctly the "time to build: xx seconds" was less around that desert than a different planet in the same game with no military labs.

I never bothered to mess with it further... and i have not bothered to notice it in 1.17 and entrenchment... (cause in multiplayer your waaay to busy to be looking at ship build times...) but I will see if i can notice it again...
