[Bug] Akkan Colonize Ability

At level 2, you're supposed to have 1 extractor built, and at level 3, 2 built instantly, for free. Sometimes the ability will work, but other times it will not. I have a replay of when this occurred, if you'd like to see it.

And if you're going to look at this to see if it needs a fix....could we also up the bonus from 0,1,2 extractors to 1,2,4 . Just a thought.

I have an odd feeling I'm going to back and see I missed something, but this isn't the first time I've notice this happen, so I figured I'd mention it. See if anyone else is seeing the same thing.

There is a 30 second delay before the ability kicks in...

I don't think so. That's what it used to be once upon a time, but they fixed that in one of the patches (which I do not know). I know the Advent one was at least. I'm assuming that means they fixed the TEC and Vasari. Plus, I have seen it work. It will do it. Just not consistently. When it does do it though, it's immediate.

It probably has to do with the thing not knowing which asteroids to stick stuff on then...

if an asteroid already has an extractor on it, it wont work

also, not all GW's have 4 asteroids... some dont even have 3, so boosting it to 4 could be a waste...

Id trust raging amish when he says something like this... but raging... I am sure the devs will ask for a saved game and/or a replay.

 

Also, ya the akkan's colonizing ablity could use a little boost.

I'm pretty sure that the reason the ability gives 2 extractors at max level is because some planets only have 2 resource asteroids. I guess it was easier for the devs to put a simple cap on the ability than have it properly check the grav well and build the appropriate number of extractors.

That's what I seem to remember from a while back, anyway.

I've seen something like that occasionaly. Because it is not instant, I queue them up and lose the benefit as it can't build them when queued ones are there.

Doesn't matter if 4 is a waste - by having 4, you get the benefit if it is there to be had, otherwise you haven't lost out on anything...
