Thanks for the reply, im glad that parameter is actually used by the game engine and isnt just something left in there that the devs never used.
What im trying to do is force ships to allign more strictly to their targets. In the sins engine a ship tends to think it's 'aligned' when it's actually only within 20 or 30 degrees. This makes beam weaponry look REALLY ugly.
One of the ships im making would be better if it aligned to its target within, say 5 degrees...
Does anyone know how to do that? Is this firingAlignmentType parameter just a red hering for my purposes?
