Creating an Ironclad online account freezes Entrenchment?

Hi guys, I think I finally would like to give multiplayer a go.  So on the Entrnchment main menu I click Ironclad Online, then I setup an account.  I enter a username, password, cd key, and email, click ok or apply...and Entrenchment just completely locks up.  I have to do a hard reset.  Has this happened to anyone else...?

Thanks.

My first guess would be that maybe you got a firewall running and it asks you permission to let Sins access the internet. Lots of firewalls (i.e. ZoneAlarm and Sygate) don't always tab out properly to ask that and in the worst case (happened to me a few times) the system just completely locks up like you described.

Might be a completely different problem with you, but in case you got a firewall running try to give Sins permission to access the internet before you try to setup that account of yours.

I AM running zonealarm.  I'll add entrenchment to the ok list and see if that works...

Thanks :)

If it locks up, leave it a minute and see if you get a message - something like "Disconnected from Ironclad Online" - this means as Azrak said, something is blocking your ports... If you run a hardware firewall, you need to open some ports there as well...

I'm getting the "Disconnected from Ironclad Online" message as well. I'm running a basic windows firewall, and it shows Sins as having an exception. I have the newest version of the original Sins (not Entrenchment) running on XP pro edition. I saw on the Stardock forums that certain ports - 6000 and 7000 - needed to be open, and tried opening them under Firewall -> Exceptions -> Add port. No luck.

Is there something else I need to fix? If not, is it possible there is a network firewall in addition to the windows firewall, and this firewall is causing problems? (I'm on a college campus, using their network).

My guess = bingo. It's being blocked by the campus firewall...
