You need to update your version of sins of a Solar Empire. The way the game reads the gamefiles have been updated a lot sense 1.05 as they added more features.

I feel we are in the presence of a pirate trying to work his way into getting the current version through forge tools!

Unfortunately for you dear fellow...all you need to do is open Impulse and update but since in your case you can't (Torents FTL in certain aspects ;)) you're stuck with having to buy the full version.

It wont work because even the forge tools have purposely omitted the core game files (which have also been updated and only acquirable through impulse) therefore basicaly giving you all entity files but not the engine with which to play them.
