Patching from 1.04...

Hi guys...

 

I'm tryng the game on windows 7... all works great, but impulse download only 1.17 patch (latest)

 

I remember the big patch from 1.04 to 1.07, (1,2 gb circa)

 

I have to download in other way 1.07 and reinstall all? is the same?

if you update via impulse, the game is always automatically patched up to the latest version (which is 1.17 at the moment, yes).

 

so if you "only" have 1.04 right after the installation, i am afraid that yes, you will have to download the whole patch.

 

i am not sure about incremental patches. since the whole patching is done via impulse, there seems to be no downloadable "soase_1.04_1.07.exe" or something :(

Thanks for reply, you are right, i was talking about incremetal patch.

 

You are very polite :-) so.. how i can do? i have find all patch and so manually do an incremental patch?

 

Someone surely buy every day a copy of SOASE.. and? he download only the latest patch? and all the patch before? :-)

well, you can D/L the 1.05 patch of over solar.filefront.com (a miniscule 10-15 MB). After that, it's like a 300 MB patch D/L through Impulse to get 1.17. Unfortunately, there are no patches after 1.05, as 1.05 was released when Impulse was still being set up.

Now it is, so that's where you get your patches. Luckily, it seems to be quite rapid.

There's not much point in applying the standalone patches before using Impulse; you'll end up replacing some files that will just get replaced again anyway. Impulse already updates only those files that are different between your install and the latest version, so it is as efficient as it can get.
