Barren Worlds

Seems like there's pretty much every environment but no environment...

Seriously... no barren worlds in Sins? I mean, like the moon, with no atmosphere.

This came to mind as I was making a map of the Solar System with Venus, Mars, and Mercury. Mars is obviously a desert, Venus a cloudy planet (another thing we should have, that I had to settle with desert) and Mercury is a barren planet, but I had to use Volcanic.

I also wish we had planetoids or "dwarf planets" in Sins. Like Pluto, Ceres and Eris. Instead, I had to settle with Ceres as an asteroid and Pluto as a way to large ice planet.

There is mods such as celestial bodies, and the distant stars mod that has planets that is suited for your purpose

I thought the same thing.  I went to create our solar system, and I realized that there was no good representation of Mercury and the Moon (as well as Ceres and many of the other dwarf planets).  From a game-design perspective, though, it's not really necessary.

There is a reason for that. While Barren worlds and dwarf planets might be useful for making a map of the solar system, they have pretty much no other use. It would cost a huge amount of resources and time to terraform a barren world, and a dwarf planet would probably be to small to be useful.

Eh?  That doesn't really float mja.  We have dead asteroids in the game which are colonizable, and really truly worthless to your economy.  A barren planet could be a varient of dead asteroid that allows for logistic slots.

Exactly! The only way you'd ever want to colonize a dead asteroid is a strategic point.
