lrm rebalance-something you all forgot about

their has been alot of complianing lately about how illums are far too over powered, even compared to other lrms. one thing that has cought my eye is that illums have a higher hull than all other lrms. yet ppl see this as unbalanced and say to nerf it. then the same ppl look at the assail and say boost it which i do think it needs a 50 point increase in sheilds.the main thing that everyone including raging amish have forgot about is that each lrm in a different teir of the tech tree. why wouldnt a teir 3 lrm be supperoir to a teir one lrm? i am just mentioning this to try make everyone understand why the illums is so much more powerful than the other lrms. the devs wanted it that way. i am however for a nerf of the illums side weapons as to make surfing illums through enemy ranks not very effective. whatever you do Devs DO NOT nerf the illums hull severly or sheilds do not change the TEC lrm and only give a slight sheild boost to the vasari lrm

the Advent LRF has TOO MUCH hull in comparison to other types of units (particularly Guardians), and in reference to the entire Advent race. The Advent's ship survivability comes from their SHIELDS. Not hulls, like the TEC, or a combo, like the Vasari.

While what you say IS TRUE, you also need to take into account that certain things should be different, like the LRF changes. With the TEC's LRF, I don't think that there is a need to change it. With the Assailants though, they are JUST TOO WEAK IN COMPARISON TO THE OTHER RACES LRFs. Yeah, they're a tier 1 unit. But they should still have some survivability against enemy ships of a comparable type.

Ideally IMO, the Illums should get the least HULL points, but have the highest SHIELD points. They can also have a raised mitigation (Advent are shield masters after all), I don't mind that. The Vasari Assailants should get a LITTLE bit more survivability, or their hull/shield researches should offer better effects on the Assailants.

The TEC Javelis is fine as-is I think.

I haven't forgotten this at any point. The Illum does the most damage of the three and thanks to using beams instead of missiles less of its damage goes to waste and the ship never stops firing. These are passive things that makes the Illum the superior LRF. I'm not touching the guns. The guns make this ship superior.

The current Illum crushes the enforcer and is about on a equal footing with Kodaks and Destras, which is wrong. So wrong. The Illum has always been and will always be the superior lrf. The Assailant has always and will always be the worst lrf. I'm not changing the order of Illum>LRM>Assailant.

What I am doing is changing the order of Illum=Kodak=Destra>Enforcer>LRM>Assailant. Changing the Illum by nerfing it's dps is not what the devs want to do.

Read the in-game info cards on the lrf's. They're supposed to be high damage dealers but relatively frail compared to the other frigates in the game.

I never have and never will disagree with the fact that the Illum needs to be the most powerful lrf. If it's not, the Advent don't have much going for them. What I am saying is it doesn't need be that Assailant blow, LRMS are average, and Illums are absolutely balls to the wall crazier and more powerful than anything else in the game with no sufficient counters.

like i said i do want assails to have a little bit more sheilds and i do think illums are overpowered. btw i have noticed that unlike previous versions 1.03 lrms and assails stop firing once enough missiles to destory the target have been fired making them more balanced with illums altough illums still have teh adventage in that area. i do think illums need a side weopons nerf of about 50% but if anything is going to be done to illums hull it needs to be very slight say -50-75 hull points. i do believe it was you amish who said little changes go along way. and yes enforcers suck they need more powerful weopons , hull nad sheilds. i think all hcs should be balanced with each other considering they are all teir 5. but back to the point illums or overpowered yes and assails need a slight health boost. what i am trying to do is get a nerf on illums that wont kill them but will make other lrms a vialbe option. if you raging amish were to help me alot of the community would give support and we would very likely see the changes we want. that is if devs aim to please anyway.

Sounds good to me superfleet. Check out the Modding section of the forums. I put up a mod called RAKK Community Balance MOD. I'd like to hear your input there. So far the mod just has basic fixes, but that's cause I've only been workin on it for a couple days.
