SoSE serial number crap

I bought Sins of a Solar Empire used, yeah I know but it was too good a deal to pass up, and now my serial number is no good.  I contacted stardock support to see if they could help me, I provided them with pictures of the retail box and serial number to prove I have the game.  Well I'm still waiting for a reponse, i understand they are slower since it's all through email.  What do you think my chances are of getting it working so I can have entrechment?  I would really like to spend some money with Stardock if they'll help me out here :)

you cant. you need to buy your own personal unused copy.

Sins of a solar empire does not require a cd key to install. Does not require a cd to run the game but it DOES require a serial key to play online.

The money you spend on the game when you first buy it is more like spending a money so you can play multiplayer.

Whoever sold you the used copy was smart because with just an account created from that serial key, he/she can now just download the game from Impulse and play. that person doesnt even need the cd no more.
