Is there a way to string maps together?

another day... another question.... :)

Hi, i was thinking this morning of those map campaigns that someone on the forum was putting together so nicely, and i haven't seen any new ones for a bit, and thought of trying to simulate a campaign by carrying info over from one map game to the next, so that the same ships continue on from map to map.

Is there any way that anyone knows, even manually of doing that?

Do you think copying the contents of one save game into another would work? I have made small maps and just recently a huge map, well... haha, huge to me, its a 12 star map with 238 planets, it loaded, but im crossing my fingers it will continue to play, if i dont zoom out too much.  :)

You know, i had a thought, what if we start a small custom map, 12-20 planets 1 star, get half way through and save it.

Then edit the map, add new planets say another 20-30 and 2 more stars, save it. reload the game, well... probably only the saved game planets will be there, maybe not the additions. But to be honest, when i make changes to a mod, and reload, the changes are added of course.

I'm going to have to keep thinking about this, but if anyone knows a way, even a pain in the neck, lots of copying, haha, whatever, let me know. I dont mind the hard work if i can get it to work.  :)

:)  I hadn't figured that out when i posted Mooster,  :)  I started with wanting to get ships to a certain level and carrying those leveled ships into another map.

Instead of starting from zero with every new game or new map.

From there i think i got caught up in something else, haha, that happens to me, ideas sometimes flying so fast i can't figure out which one to try first.  :)

Anyway, haven't thought about this idea in a while, and haven't figured out a way to "simulate" going from one map to another. but well, it would be interesting. I would still like to sit down and see if I could figure out something.  :)

Take care Mooster, good to hear you,
