Entrenchment Crashes/Black Screen

So i have been playing on my copy of entrenchment for little over a month now, and it has been working absolutley flawlessly.   Yet the past couple of days, i have been unable to play due to the game crashing right when it loads.  

I click on the icon and the screen goes black.   It will not allow me to alt-tab out or use the task manager to close the program.   I have to reboot my computer every time. 

At first i thought that un-installing it and re-installing it would solve the problem, yet it still does it after the installation.   I have read other posts saying that the cause could be because of a mod trying to load on startup, but i never used any mods(and i dont have the load mods on startup box checked).  I read somewhere that deleting the mods folder could solve the problem, yet this has yet to work for me. 

I find it also interesting that Sins itself runs fine, and that it is just entrenchment that has this issue.

 

So does anyone have any thought as to what my problem may be?  Because its starting to drive me crazy.

Hmm...  I had a similiar problem a few months back.  I had to re-install (in my case update) my video drivers and it went away.  If you're willing to re-install both again, I would recommend uninstalling and clearing all folders, registry, etc from your computer to give Sins a fresh start over.  Best of luck!!

I have un-installed and re-installed both sins and entrenchment too many times to count.  I have tried updating my Video drivers, and installing an earlier driver, and neither worked.   I have cleared the registry and removed all folders and files pertaining to Sins, and i still cant get it to work.  

I have tried just about every cure for this problem that i could find on the forums, to no avail.   The original game works PERFECTLY, with absolutely no errors or minidumps, yet entrenchment still wont work.  And its not like i hate the original game, it just gets a little boring, considering that i bought a game that i cant play!

 

Oh well, i guess ill keep trying to get this issue solved.

EDIT: if it is of any help, the game consumes a static ammount of memory(about 50%) while i get the black screen.
