Epic 5v5 comeback win or Epic Gheyness? Watch the replay and decide.

Was this game an epic come-from-behind win or was it a case of epic gheyness where a team refuses to quit because they think they can win it?  You decide.

Game:  5v5 pug match on Entrenchment, huge random single star map

Ferdie, (me as Admiral Kutozov), Slackah Chicken, BagsX, Servicious (Winners!)

v.

Archnemesis, EckNegative, Sgt Major, Zanglos, JediMindTrick (LOOOOOsers!)

Your side:

You and Bag played very team oriented.
-Ferdie did awesome harass on Arch.  Very good distraction.
-Ferdie stayed in the game way longer than I expected.  I thought he'd go down before Jedi even.
-Serv also stayed in when I thought he'd be out.  Had very bad starting position but managed to hold.
-The early defeat of Jedi left the other team down a player when you still had all 5.
-Overwhelming culture compared to opposition for most of the game.

Enemy:

-Major wasted too much time on Chicken's SB on Ferdie's Terran.  Then again on his SB on the Volcanic.  That fleet  could have been used on a much less defended planet.  In fact, I think it took Arch to tell him to leave the planet for him to do so.
-Jedi's feeding to Eck, while making Eck stronger, cost him in the end.  Don't know why he chose to feed when he was between two opponents.
-Eck could have killed your ice next to your Terran.  Or at the very least harassed it some.
-Arch had big carrier fleet at ice on your side of the map, but didn't use it for a long time.  I think that Ferdie's harass here might have aided in this.
-Zwang used too big of a fleet to defend his ice from a very very small force.  Bad fleet management.  Those forces would have been better used on Ferdie's unprotected desert just 3 jumps away.

-Heavy floating on both sides at times(esp. by Chicken.  He he was upwards of 40k creds).  Don't know why this was. Serv could have used some feed to up his position.
-Enemy team had number of opportunities for some good blows but didn't capitalize on them.
-Your team's fleet management seemed all around better to me.

I'd say this game was far from over when they were asking you all to leave.  They were mad that you didn't oblige them.  I think it was the length of the game that allowed you all to win.  Though it could have still gone either way if everyone stayed.

Granted I'm not the amazing strategist some of you guys are.  So correct me if I'm wrong on these points.  And I only watched the game once using at the least x4.  Since there's no rewind I might have missed stuff too.

Personally, I think it was way too premature on their part to call for a gg.  Which was made obvious when they lost. ^_^

Are they the type to carry a grudge against you guys, or is all good?

Just awesome.

Arch does't relocate his homeworld, simply unforgivable.  Ech trash talks then complains when he falls into a PJI/Gravity Warhead trap.  Major spends 30 mins taking pot shots at a starbase, then consoles himself by stating that he could beat anyone in a 1v1, as if it has any relevance in the 5v5 he joined.

Funny thing is the only civil "enemy" was Zanglos.  He also happens to be the only one who didn't rage quit and uninstall.

Heheh you guys need to learn to zip these replays. Turns 6MBs into few KBs since these are TXT files.

Which is the directory path i add this so i can watch it?

Unfortunatly I would play online but have a crappy computer that keeps blue screening me/restarting itself at random which i don't think would be very fun especially if someone was like an hour into it and i just "dissapeared".

Would be interesting to see what type of strategys/gameplay people use online, maby learn a thing or 2.

I watched this, and must say that your side's victory was fantastic. ^_^ Of course, having Ferdie and his dual Marzas is always an enormous benefit to a team. But looking at the replay, the winning side coordinated their attacks far better.

Of course, I have a feeling that if Sgt Major used his fleet to attack Chiken's worlds, that his side would of lost. I found it extremely strange that Major had a big, poweful fleet, but just camped it on Ferdie's homeworld as his Progen slowely bombed the planet.

For XP, the directory path is

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Record-MultiPlayer

I'm not sure what it is for Vista or 7.  Both the Local Settings and Application Data directories are hidden, so you will need to show hidden files to see them (or you can just type them in in the navigation bar).

Edit: Awesome replay.  You guys totally deserved that win.
