deliverance engine question

ihaves questions on how deliverance engine works

I know that the deliverance engine increases your culture on planets and at a rate of .5% per sec, but does it affect adjacent planets? if so, is it at the same rate as the planet you fired on or less and      does it affect more than just adjacent planets? does the effect last infinately from one shot? does it affect neutral planet? whats the point of firing multiple engines at one planet?

whew thats a lot of questions. i hope you forum peoples answer them all cause i really dont know the specifics of the deliverance engine

WHen the dilverance engine hits... it acts like you just placed like 5 culture centers on that planet.... after your culture neutalized the enemy culture, on that planet, it spreads to adjacent planets... and continues untill the effect wears off... at which point, the culture begins to retreat.

 

fireing multiple engines at the same time MORE THAN  DOUBLES the effect... 3 engines raise the culture rate to rediculous. 4, of course, to ludicrous speed... after 4 doesnt seem to effect anymore... IIRC... but while the effect will be crazy... it will wear off in the same amount of time.

staggering your deliverance engines causes the effect to last longer, and so the enemy culture does not have time to recover.

the dilverance engine also gives you ships a damage bonus... and unless the enemy has a zillion broadcast centers, will also give you your shield mitigation bonus.

remember... all it is like placing multiple temperary temples of communion on the enemy planet... (+dmg bonus)... so it will act as if you placed multiple temperary temples of communion on the enemy planet... that is all it does... and as such... it is limited by the max -allegance change... it will take a nice little while of staggered deliverance engines to flip a planet... but most important bit of it is... is to give you your culture bonus, and a damage bonus... because... a+10% shield mitigation bonus on a level 10 advent cap ship + guardians + shield restore is very very close to invincible.

Does it always stack properly? It never works when I use 'em... even when the enemy has no broadcast centers or anything.

broadcast centers on the planet your firing at seriously nerfs the effects...

a very simple (and much cheaper than the dileverance engines) counter is 1 broadcast center on every one of your planets...

 

if your enemy has enough love cannons too get past your broadcast centers... than...

1. he hasnt been spending nearly enough money on units, and you should be able to crush him (or at least kill a military lab so they stop firing)

2. you were screwed anyway, and you should prolly have given up by now.

I've succesfully, and repeatedly, eliminated AI's with two Deliverance Engines bombing the enemy homeworld continuosly. I doubt that would work against a human opponent, but i'll propably never find out :grin:
