you do realize, games are now being uploaded to the internet and while theres still hardcopies in stores, the trend of buying and selling via download is picking up. If 75% of the fanbase buys the game from a downloadable site.......then Im pretty sure the company is going to go with the 75%. Entrenchment has been out for almost a year..........and they havent released any hardcopies that I know of. And if they did, their not easy to find. so good luck with the search.

At $10 each, it's economically unfeasible to release a boxed version for each.

$29.95 for Latest version of the Game + Entrenchment + Diplomacy isn't bad. I suppose the only question is, is it worth the effort of doing the boxed version thing.

Though, i too would love to have hard copies of the expansions as well.

Honestly I think the Download was a better option. I dont know how many hardcopies I lost or broke when moving or doing other things that resulted in the loss of a game. And when I got a new computer......I had to buy the cd's again. Which If you notice are always more expensive then their downloadable counterparts. Atleast until the game has been out long enough that they kindof both meet.

i dont know a single guy that uses checks where i live.. but is there any option for sending me a bill instead of having to use credit cards?

What about paypal... i simply add money to the paypal account via a bank transfer... and use the paypal account to pay Stardock... no credit or bank card involved, no check, only transfer money from your account to a other... and if you say that you don't have a bank account, i will not believe you...

seriously, though, there is no such thing as an infalliable transaction system for money.  if you have it, someone will figure a way to get it.  if you're so worried about being robbed, you should probably go for the check, as it leaves a paper trail, can be canceled, and involves the physical transaction of a paper check.  unless you're worried that the postal service has it out to get you.

Like i said, People here dont use checks... I dont think the bank(s) even give out check books anymore around here.

The fact that i dont have any checks? Or the fact that the last guy who tryed to take my wallet ended up in a hospital with a broken arm? (And inbefore someone says anything it was self-defense)

There really is nothing bad about paying with debit card or paypal. Paranoia is really a ridiculous thing, and it unnecessarily paralyzes too many people who lose sight of things at the mere mention of anything bad that can happen in a 1/100000 chance.

If you want to restrict yourself to old-fashioned and increasingly unsupported payment methods, that's fine. But don't expect to be able to buy anything you want. You'll probably just have to live without these expansions, and likely a good number of entire games in the not too distant future.

Trying to avoid the vitriol, but what payment method would you use to pay this bill?  Would it be a money order, perhaps?  I would imagine they could use one of those in place of a check, but you're kidding yourself if you think any game company will give you a full product/non-demo without receiving payment first, and has already been explained the particular product you're asking for is only available by direct download.

Looks like your only option is to get some checks from your bank.

if you can't get ahold of any checks, you could always kidnap Brad or Blair and ransom them in return for a copy of the expansions.  if you get both, they may even get a copy of diplomacy.
