SoaSE LAN

I have a rather straightforward question in regards to LAN play with SINS.

Is it possible/supported/legal to play LAN with a single copy of SINS on multiple computer, much in the same way as Demigod, or is this behaviour frowned upon?

In case this has already been answered, I humbly request a quick link to a more appropriate thread :)

So long as none of your friends take the game home with them, you're in the clear.  Chances are if you're not pirating (that is, no one else is going home with the game) neither the devs or publisher has a problem with what you're doing.

i thought about trying that out, but i figured since the game was only $20 at walmart they could just go get it and then we could all play. With no problems at all.

But is it possible?  I have no problem with it ethically, since my LAN parties usually cause people to go buy whatever game we played, so they won't get their butt kicked at the next LAN party.

I ask because the manual says that you can play on "up to two connnected machines using the same serial number".  If it's not possible, I'd like to know ahead of time, so we can decide if someone is willing to buy another copy or if we need to play something else entirely.

I'll be concise - has anyone played 1.81 Sins, or better yet Entrenchment on more than two machines locally with a single key?

I have six machines with sins installed on them, three of which are triple boot or higher, so my count of sins install is a total of 13, but I usually only play one at a time, but from blair's posts in the past it would be reasonably safe to go ahead as long as your household OWNS the computers.

I play Sins mainly, but I have a copy on my brother's computer as well, and sometimes he'll play a LAN game with me. I also have a copy on my laptop.

I honestly think you should be okay. Especially since it's lan it's not really over a great distance. Your all in one place playing a game. On the demo you'd exit and it would give the details and it said something about our customers are thieves. So i don't think you'll have a problem at all.

If you really want to try just find 2 friends and try it with the 3 computers. If it don't work then you'll know before trying to set up some 7x7 match up with the same copy.

It works fine. I play LAN with my roommate all the time. I actually have let people install it to play LAN parties and they end up buying it (a la baens free library style). So no worries Devs, all I have done is get you new customers.
