Let me clarify what she said. She complained about a window in a church being blown out during a bombing and then proceeded to say that we Americans were too liberal (apparently the Brits and Canadians were not present) with our artillery and bombs and pointed out that the Germans hadn't caused so much damage when they came through. My response was something along the lines of, yeah, the Germans don't have to do any damage when you decide to put a bow tie on the country and hand it over and when we liberated the country, which was optional, we sure as hell didn't have to give it back, hell, the Soviets sure did take their effort's worth. In the end, I had several other French people on my side and told her she can go look at the headstones in Brittany, Normandy, and the like and she can kiss my ass.
