Yeah, I actually modified M:TW2 to make it more accurate where it pertains to time and movement. The game isn't designed for mods, so I can't imagine it going over well. On top of that, I wouldn't want to bother registering it as a mod. I did the same thing with Evil Genius, modifying the number of henchmen I can have and changing a script so I can fix a bug with the final cinematic. If Valve shuts me down for that, I'd be pissed.
And I've had to troubleshoot my dad's computer. Steam has pop-ups, times when the server is busy and doesn't want to start the game, and won't let you uninstall a game without the Steam client connected to the net. They won't let you UNINSTALL the game. Some complain about CDs. I have no idea where they got the idea that CDs are a problem. Hell, I put a flash drive through the washer and dryer and it came out fine. I've had CDs survive a flood (go figure, they float). So I'm happy as is.
