My default characters are from Kaziij'e, a quarantined world in TEC space. They would probably be closest to the TEC in terms of culture. The blind individual is amplifying latent psychic fields using a copper medium, such as her coin, which are only capable of warping sensory perception rather than telekinesis. Basically she can only create illusions. The crew of the Nabatieh never saw the Arbiters get onboard thanks to her, instead being distracted by the "Vasari".

There's a different, tactical reason that only women are involved but I can see where you're coming from.

I also will give my opinion. Be careful how far you take it, some of what you put done drifts away from Sins/DS lore and we want to keep it as close in line as possible.
