Can Maps Be Edited With Notepad?

Hi,

              Just trying to find out if maps and templates can be edited with notepad. I know some maps start everyone out on the Terran home planet, but thought it might be nice to have the Tec on Terra, the Advent on a Desert planet and the Vasari on a Volcanic to start. :)

Silly maybe, but it could lead to other things if i can edit a map with notepad.

I believe so, I remember on one of the distant stars map u do start out as advent what ever race u have chose in the race selection menu

Yes, maps can be edited with notepad.

That is how we made maps back in the beta days before galixy forge.
