Sins is an icon on the task bar, but no window; launches correctly from impulse

I've noticed that when I try to launch Sins directly, I get a task bar icon, but the screen switch and videos never start.  The task bar icon just hangs down there 'til I close it.

However, launching from Impulse works fine.

This is on Windows 7 x64, launching from the non-system drive. ("E:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\SINS_Launcher.exe")

Known issue? Is there a way to launch it without going to Impulse?  (I prefer to launch it off the most-recently used list on the start menu - saves a step.)

Are you actually using the game shortcut or the launcher? (the launcher shows links to the site and impulse and so on along with start game)

My launcher hasn't worked since the latest patch but using the game shortcut directly opens the game.(note: in my case the game's direct shortcut in the start menu also went to the launcher until I corrected it to point to the game's exe in the game folder. )

This is actually my issue too, when i click on the launcher (after updating yesterday) the launcher iss off my screen for some reason, i click the taskbar name on the bottom of my screen and i see that it minimizes the launcher from off the left side of my viewable screen.

i guess the only easy fix for this is to shortcut to the *.exe itself huh? is there any 'correct way' of fixing this so i can see my launcher again?
