Autoplace is driving me nuts

I don't know how it happened, but i can't place any structure myself, each time i try to build something, the CPU insists on placing it for me, most of the time where i don't want it of course.

In my current game, i have two full upgrade orkulus in my frontier "systems", but i can't place correctly my jump interdictors so the enemy doesn't just pass by and jump to my inner systems :annoyed:

Anyone knows how i can disable this feature/bug. I only found an option to disable auto placement for extractors, it's the only auto-place i'd like to keep.

theres a button you can toggle on your HUD with an infinity symbol (sideways 8). Turn it off (grey). Now you can place yourself.

Too easy for me :-" I searched all options but never thought of searching an in-game option.

Thanks for the answer.

You're welcome. I believe there is a keyboard shortcut too, but I don't remember what it is.

Yeah, autoplace is annoying.  It'd be alright if it were actually smart, but from the looks of it the autoplace behavior is more or less random.

I can no longer use it unless its late in the game and I just don't care.

ya.. late game when i just really dont want to bother to zoom into my planets to place a zillion trade ports... i just turn on autoplace, and it saves me some time.

The autoplace is kinda smart... its the same autoplace that the ai uses... it tries to stick civilian buildings near your extractors... although... its military building placement... is kiinda meh.

I only use autoplace when i'm owning all and dont have time to place structures because I'm conquering them as fast as I can place their structures so autoplace is handy late game when you know you wont have to be defending that planet ;)
