"Credits gained from other sources"

So after playing a game today, I noticed that my credit income was higher than anybody else's, even though I had not even built an eco lab all game.  There were 4 people (2v2) and I did a rush strategy on one of my opponent's bases.

I expected my credit income to be lower than everybody else's because I hadn't upgraded anything, but it looks like the majority of my income came from (according to the stat screen) "other sources".  Some of the other options were from planet income, the black market, from other players, and a few others that did not apply to me.

Can somebody explain what this mysterious "other sources" means?  Do you get credits for destroying enemy ships/buildings?  Thanks.

Off the top of my head I can only think of destroying trade ships (destroying them gives 100 creds I'm 99% sure). It doesn't get added to your credit income rate though in the stats screens (i'm 90% sure that only shows income from planets/trade as otherwise it would spike up and down every time you killed a trade ship or claimed bounty etc). Maybe you just had more planets or lower fleet supply than the other players.

You get credits for destroying ships if some else placed bounty on those ships. for structures as well but not sure about takin planets

If pirates were on, I believe you can get money from the bounty on other players by destroying the ships and structures yourself. I've seen bounty run out before pirates even launched due to fighting. If you're playing as TEC, there's embargo.

Isn't there a category for credits gained from bounty?

No that category is for how much bounty has been placed on your head

Also if you are playing Vasari you are reclaiming resources (I think that includes credits) when you destroy stuff. Also I know that "Drain Planet" gives you credits. I think both of these show up under this catagory.

Ah thanks guys, I was really confused about that.

There's also TEC's Pervasive Economy research that grants you money for whenever someone makes an expenditure or gains money from trade ships.

I don't think you got a satifactory answer. I too would like to know.  I've often wondered about 'credits from other sources', and have never completely understood it.  (BTW, this income is not included your credit income, so it alone doesn't explain why you had the best income.)

Sometimes I've seen players with huge amounts of 'other income' in the opening minutes.  And I don't know what it is!   My only explanation is that they are scuttling stuff - or changing their minds about stuff they ordered to build, and then cancelling it.

Its NOT feed.  I wish there was a graph that showed feed.  But there isn't.  Even tho some players say there is!  ("I'm gonna look at the end of the game to see how much you were fed"...).

Early game it could be Sova Embargo.  That's about it (early game).  Late game it could be TEC Perasive Economy.  Or Evacuator Drain Planet.  Or the Vasari tier 3 tech that allows Cap ships to collect 5/10/15% 'salvage' from destroyed structures & Cap ships.  But I don't know what else.

Nah I've gotten it without any of that stuff you mentioned, and had players get it against me for strange reasons as well.

I know that when someone puts a pirate bounty on your head and they kill your ships instead you get money, but it's like there's some other source as well.  It's like killing enemy ships gives you money or something, or maybe even killing pirate ships.  It's really strange and I'm not sure what causes it but sometimes you just get a lot of extra credits from "other sources".

I wish there was a graph that showed feed.

Credits given to other players and credits received from other players.  It does exist.

Ah!  I found it!  After all this time, it never occurred to me to scroll down, for more graphs.  Thanks.
