Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment downgrade question

how do you downgrade to 1.0

Hey I bought and downloaded Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment but I have a problem. It installed the latest patch automatically in Impulse, but I didn't want that. I wanted to be the same version as another computer in my network. I looked far and wide on the internet for something to help me but I didn't find it.

If I uninstall the game and reinstall it, impulse will just install the latest patch again. Is version 1.0 the launch version? Maybe thats why I couldn't find a patch download.

Thanks!

Just asking, but why would you want to downgrade?  Sure, the units are different now than they were at first, but if you don't have the updates, you can't go Ironclad Online.

Now, the only thing i could think of is copying the new Entrenchment file, putting it somewhere safe, uninstalling the game, then replacing the files where you find them.  It might not work, however, because it's possible that the latest patch is required for some of the newer units and abilities to function properly, or keep the Starbases balanced.  There's probably another way, i just don't know what it is.

Because isn't it better to do have a LAN battle with the same versions? I can't upgrade the other computer, no access. IS there a way to make Impulse not install the latest patch?

If you're just worried about being able to play local LAN games, then try copying the entire Sins Folder and replacing the one on your other computer.  Again, not sure it will work, but it's worth a try.  Be sure to keep the copy so you don't lose any saves/achievements you might want.

Impulse only has the latest files.

So long as you have a flash drive, you can use http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/Home.aspx to get the other computer up to date.

alternatively, you could always go to http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/ and download the entire game for an offline installation including the latest patch.

you will need impulse installed on the target computer, but no internet connection is required. this is officially supported, so you can use your normal account on both machines.

the only thing you won´t be able to do is play online at the same time, but LAN should be no prob.

I didn't think of that.  Would have been helpful with a simlar problem i had a while back.

Both of these are better ideas than mine i think, because both computers with have the latest updates so you'll be playing the game the way Ironclad intends it.  Good luck!

btw, having the same version isn't better, it's required for any LAN/Online game.
