SHIP COLORS

I KNOW THERE ARE WAYS TO CHANGE COLORS FOR YOUR SHIPS AND PLANETS BUT NOW I CANT FIND IT!!  IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME FIND A WAY TO CHANGE COLORS I WOULD BE HAPPY.  THERE ARE SO MANY CHANGES YOU CAN MAKE IN THIS GAME...BUT THERE IS NO SETUP GUIDE IN THE MANUAL!!!!! MANY THANKS

HOLY FUCKING CAPSLOCK, CAPTAIN

Options -> User Interface -> Turn off "Use Team Colors"

If that's not what you're looking for, click on the colored icon next to your race (Not the team selection, the other one) and select a color at the top of the resulting window.

Maybe you're talking about player setup?  You can change your colour from that menu.  You can also just click the insignia beside your name to change your icon/colour.
