Not showing all maps

Hey guys I just got Sins and Entrenchment, however when I try to play a singleplayer game of entrenchment, it won't allow me to play anything but a single 2v2 small map. None of the maps and scenarios from the regular sins is showing up. I have no mods going, it's just the vanilla all the way. Thanks for any help.

Do a complete reinstall?

I did twice, I even moved the contents of the galaxy folder to the galaxy folder in Entrenchment and to the one in the appdata folder.

I have the same problem. It only shows one map when I run Entrenchment no matter what. I can play different maps by having only one map file in the galaxy folder, but that's super lame.

kidinthehall,

which version of sins/entrenchment are you running?,

if before 1.16/entrenchment 1.02 then the correct folder for galaxyforge galaxy files IS the program files \soase\galaxy folder ,and update the galaxy manifest for entrenchment to see the maps

if 1.16/entrenchment1.02 AND LATER the galaxyforge galaxy files SHOULD be in the galaxyforge folder next to your mods folders

and here is the info I have been posting since entrenchment 1.02's release

assuming you have sins 1.181/entrenchment 1.041,  the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp
C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge

or here for vista/windows 7
C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge.

for sins 1.15/entrenchment 1.01 and earlier, the correct location IS the program files \galaxy folder, and you also NEED to edit the entrenchment's galaxy.manifest to include the maps and also the total count of maps

NOTE the first two folders after the 'user name' are hidden , so to see them you must first click on 'tools' then 'folder options', then 'view', then click on 'show hidden files& folders' then click ok, then you will be able to browse your want to the folder. I suggest when you find the folder that you create a shortcut to it on the desktop

NOTE 2 the 'user name' in the above paths is your WINDOWS login user name, eg Administrator

also the galaxy forge maps in the local apps galaxyforge folder only show up in the galaxy forge tab of map types in sins 1.16+/entrenchment 1.02+

if the map IS a galaxy forge and giving the instant win/loss screen then MAKE sure that EACH player has a home planet and is not for a particular mod that has extra home planets and stars

and if a map you want to play was released before 25th feb 2009 then you will also need the sins map updater from here

Could this have anything to do with a Manifest.ini file?  If they deleted their Manifest files would the game just create a new one for them when they go to load the game?

I have 1.01 Entrenchment and 1.18 Sins. Anytime I try to patch entrenchment to 1.04 it gives a minidump when I try to start it.

kidinthehall,

for entrenchment 1.01 you NEED to add the extra maps in the soase\galaxy folder in the galaxy.manifest, and for sins 1.18 you need the extra galaxy files EITHER in the soase\galaxy( where the maps will show up in ther repective size) OR in the user space galaxyforge folder (where the maps appear on the galaxyforge page)

as far as updating you entrenchment to 1.041 I suggest emailing support at ironcladgames.com about it with your sins and entrenchment keys and the minidumps,. they should be able to help sove the issue

dirtysanchezz entrenchment ONLY read the manifests it does not write them

Ok, I think i figured out what causes the map bug. I was also using sins 1.18 and entrenchment 1.01. Then I tried it with sins 1.15 and it worked fine. My guess is that the versions 1.18 and 1.01 have problems together. I can't say if sins 1.18 and entrenchment 1.04 works because I also get a mini dump error every time I start it.
