GalaxyForge question

I'm trying to use a template, but there's no "items" tab on the GalaxyForge toolbox window. What might be causing this?

carbon, Is sins installed on the computer? galaxyforge reads the GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef to stock the items list

Yeah, but it reads the file that is in the galaxy forge folder, not the one that is in your game folder. So you can still use it without Sins installed, and is thus probably not the cause of Carbon's problem. Can you use the group editor just fine?

Group editor works fine. I've tried both the basic galaxyscenariodef in the folder and a custom one, neither have shown the Items panel.

My panel looks like this at the moment:

Um, are you sure that is the right pic? It doesn't even look like it is in the group nor template editor.

BTW: If you're wanting to make a template that you can use across several maps, you need to make it in the GalaxySenarioDef files.

I'm not talking about the group or template editor though? Those open and work fine, I've added a template there just fine. It's just when selecting a planet, I can't apply the template to it: as far as I know, it should look like this:

Is that from an older version of Galaxy Forge (its not on my galaxy forge either)? I don't think I've ever used that for adding templates. For universal templates like homeworlds, you need to make a new one in the GalaxySenarioDef file and then go to the group/template editor and then pick and add it from the drop down box on the left. For galaxy templates, go to edit, galaxy templates, make your template, then add it like a universal template. If that still doesn't solve your problem, what are you trying to do? That way I can at least give you a way to do it.

carbon16, have you tried doubleclicking on the planet that you want to put the template on?

That was it, thanks. I thought the global galaxy template was the thing I needed to do for some reason.
