Exploit abuser

I played a game with an exploit abuser.  He goes by the name AlwaysRandom.  He used the exploit of SB not being able to fire above themselves to put a vasari SB abover another player's SB where he could fire but my teammate could not.  He tried to use the excuse that illums were bugged to rationalize his use of the exploit.

Z-Axis exploits in general need to be closed up.  Mines are another clear example of something rendered useless by using the Z-Axis.  Don't give me the excuse that you can lay them in 3D, because then your minefields are so sparse that the enemy can walk through them in 2D and take minimal damage.

I agree.  Lums are also currently bugged. Dont abuse bugs.

The Z axis is a part of the game isn't it?

But it's riddled with exploits, that's the problem.

So riddled that it doesn't even work for me XD

I just regard the Z-Axis as cheating.

Basically the community is divided along three lines.  One third don't even give it a second thought, one third regard it as cheating, and one third regard it as an underused part of the game.  The exploits, particularly starbase blind spots and minefield bypass, are enough to put me in the "it's cheating" category.  Aside from the exploits, there are actually very few reasons you'd ever need to use the Z-Axis, and most are to avoid pathing issues.

Using the Z axis to attack a SB is obviously cheating because if it was just "part of the game" then a TEC or Advent SB would be able to react to Z axis threats.

For everything else I don't think the problem is so much that there is a Z axis, but that it is a poorly designed one and obviously an afterthought for the developers.  Think about it, gravity wells are 2D, so is every map except randomly generated ones.  Only in random maps will there be "Planet stacking" as I call it and it is universally annoying to have to deal with.  If it can't be done correctly then don't do it.  But that isn't to say don't do it, just correctly.  3D gravity wells, 3D maps, 3D SB weapons and a making a tutorial to help new people grasp the idea before they get destroyed by in on ICO.

He is a verbal berater/abuser as well - a game replay was provided as evidence.  He is an Asshole of a Solar Empire:

I agree that Z-axis should be just removed. like this isnt homeworld. Whats the point of Z axis movement?

(besides cheating)

I played with u and u keep expliting bugged lums every time i insert u an SB (without Z axis)

And for the record, its not my smurf, but i already like him.

Considering Z axis exploit  is used by only few people and lums exploit by hundrets, lum r much more important exploit to adress.
