New multiplayer experience

I don't know about other experiences you guys have had, but it seems to me that Sins of a Solar Empire is a game that takes at least 2 hours to start up a good game with online.  People do not have that much time on their hands to stay online.  Just an idea, but I think Sins should either increase resource gathering speed or decrease unit costs so that the game can advance much faster.  Research improvements and ship build time should also be increased.  For me, at least, Sins is much faster when you have a large game then just a series of wimpy rushes with light frigates.  If any of you have Age of Empires 3, you will know what I am talking about.  Most AOE3 games last around fifteen minutes because you can produce units so quickly.  This is why AOE3 has a way better multiplayer experience then Sins.

One last word for Sins.  Online multiplayers should have ranks determined by either a simple ELO system or a more complicated one justified by a win/lose record and difficulty of opponent.  In Age of Empires 3 they have over twenty ranks ranging from Conscript to Field Marshall.  This makes the multiplayer more addicting.  Just some insight I wanted to share about Sins.  Hopefully Stardock/Ironclad will listen.

Have you played many games online yet, Hubrid?  Based on my experience, your average 5v5 lasts only one-and-a-half hours.  A game can become good within half-an-hour.  Note that most people play with the speeds set to Fast everything and (for Entrenchment) Quick Start.

One reason I like this game is that the games are slower.

There's no shortage of 15-minute strategy games if that's what you want to play.

@DirtySanchezz  I've played my fair share of games online.  It seems like Even reaching a 100 credit income rate it is still tough to mass produce quickly.  Quick question, is there anyway to train more than one ship at a time on a planet?

Not sure what you mean by "train".  If you mean build, then yes.  Make more frigate factories.

Ive gotten 714 creds/sec in 1:38 mins with tec, 384 credits creds/sec with vas and 284 in 1:54 with advent.  I can  pump out a decent fleet size with these income.

I like sins cause is nice and slow. Can do many things while playing this game

Maybe 714 creds/sec because you are playing on a map with 100+ planets and no competition.....

replay or GTFO?? =) only way I see that working is solo on a 10 man multistar with no comps, thens its just a matter of spamming the tradeports, tradebases, and colonizing as efficiently as possible. 10 man single star wont come close. Never figured JJ for a forum troll lol =P

Krath. Not going to go through all my replays to find something that I get nothing out of.  Just gotta take my word on it

I prefered the 40 min treaty TvB games with my friend in AoEIII ^^ japs FTW

Japs are OP. Whats with those Ashigaru crap. It's only played by noobs.

And AoE3 ranking system didnt make it more interesting. All it created was more stress, more plug pulling, and more trash talking.

I would agree sins is slaow paced but that is why many people play sins BECAUSE it is slow. if u want something fast play C&C3KW you will die in 5 mins.

Sins is refreshingly original.  Don't make it like other 15-minute games.  It's not a clickfest, and it's got a nice balance sweet spot in maps just large enough not to be rush excessive, and just small enough not to be econ navel-gazing.  It's been a couple years since I've since a more intriguing RTS.
