ICO needs to stop banning fourm posts :(

I recently put a funny post up, called whos the biggest arsehole in sins awards ceremony, but like usally ICO are banning it. Unless your fourm rules say anything about this, why is this happening?

You didnt build the game for yourself, you built it for others, and if others opinions are surpressed by your forum overseers, then how can we put a point across? The fact is there ARE MORONS playing this game, and to not warn people about them is unfair for them, and us, becuase they continue to ruin games.

If congress has no problem with forum posts, then you shouldent either. I know I am gonna expect a sarcastic comment off some of the forum staff, but the fact is, if it aint racist, discrimnating to people etc. then we should be able to post whatever we want to.

IT DONT RUIN YOUR GAMES, BECUASE YOU DONT PLAY ON IT (UNLESS YOU DO, I DONT KNOW). we are a small communinty, and by not outcasting these idiots, then its ruins the game for us.

I already told myslef, i aint buying sins dilplomacy nor sins 2, becuase how mnay problems are within this game.

Fuzzy Its Called Messing About, it what makes the game fun, being an arsehole award?

Have you ever played with a clan? or even sins? thats the kind of atmosphere there is. a fun, vibrant and sometimes immature, but its all fun at the end of the day. That why I voted myslef in the awards.

 

but in general, if players are causing the MAJORTY of people problems, then why shouldent we have a black list?

That doesnt mean the owners of a website can just jump over their own rules to banish threads even if they dont necessaryily lik them. If they didnt like something that didnt fit into their already established rules. They have to make a new rule to get away with locking said threads.

As a owner of a site where you invite people to come and share opinions and such. You establish rules to keep things from getting out of hand. You should expect something to come up you dont agree with. But just because you disagree doesnt mean you can dictate it shouldnt be here. Especially if you didnt set it down in a rule prior to.

What its coming down to is, the Moderators protecting the minority by claiming blacklists are unfair. Which in turn is alienating the majority who are really taking a hit for the bad behavior thats being ignored by ICO.

Exactly what gives you the right to decide who is or isn't on a blacklist? Any such list will be arbitrary and open to interpretation. Any matters of conduct should be dealt with privately for the protection of all involved. What you choose to do in private, is up to you...

A POINT of a forum is to MAKE DISCUSSIONS of our likes and dislikes, If we cant discuss players who ruin the game for others, then that goes agiesnt forums.

Fuzzy Logic have you played sins of a solar empire?

Majority is what people beleive is the right thing and action to take, the miniortiy are usally the scumbags who are causing the problems, and people like you fuzzy, your opioions are welcome here, but if you have never played sins, then please, keep your comments to yourself. If you dont know the problems, then dont suggest soultions or what not to do please.

IF THE MAJORTY agress that a black list should be implmented, then it should be implmented, my list was far, each player needed more then 3 complaints to have there name blacklisted, plus proof from other sources such as recodings and screen shots etc.

The fact that the miniority have control over the forum overseers, this is a sad day for the majorty of sins fans, espcially me who has grown sick and tired of the crap, and like i said before, I wont be buying deplomacy or sins 2.

Yes it would. You could make a post (on a politics forum) to say you disagree with the Prime Minister's policies or decisions. However, calling someone a moron or 'arsehole' is not acceptable, whatever they may have done.

Reasonable discussion requires each party to be able to converse and offer opinion without resorting to insults. Anything else will degenerate into a slanging match and any point which might have been made will be lost.

Ok so if blacklists are not to be allowed. Its still an issue that the actual Moderators and such are not doing something to protect the majority from those that are creating issues within the community. If they arent willing to do their part inwhich they stamp out the minority of troublemakers. Then their hypocrites and their rules are worthless.

if 135 ppl agree out of 150 ppl that black lists are needed, then why is the miniority winning? is it becuase they are causing the trouble?

Regarding thread locking, etc.  I actually thinkg that Stardock has been rather liberal and that they'll allow many posts that wouldn't be allowed on other official forums.  For a good time, visit the Epic Games forums and post threads about how Unreal Tournament III is a consolized abomination.  Your threads will get locked and you'll probably get banned.

I just think that MP needs the moderators and Devs to step up and actually put some effort into controlling the Online Games more. People are complaining for a reason. Its because they arent able to enjoy their game without going over leaps and bounds. If MP was a larger community then the booting of new players to bring in friends wouldnt be that big of a deal. But seeing as how small MP is right now, it takes a good while to get one game started. And for someone to sit there for 45 minutes then to be booted is a waste of their free time. It discourages them from going online. And by not adressing the fact that smurfs/people with bad gaming behavior the Mods and Devs are only allowing for the MP community to continue to spiral. A blacklist wouldnt be needed if the Community rivaled the SP but it doesnt. And the Mods and Devs need to protect what little MP they have of SINs if they intend on keeping SINs around.

^^ unfortunately the lack of Oversight in MP by Mods and Devs has forced people to ask for Blacklists. Wether their against the rules or not. Its obvious why its come to this. Emailing the Mods and Devs isnt a sound solution. Your just waving off the issue.
